Good Content versus Good looks

I've been on YouTube for 10 years. I've had several channels and a bit of success. I know life isn't fair, but it does get frustrating when you come up with ideas and put a lot f hard work into making something new and interesting and you get a few views. Then you see a young attractive girl/guy make a completely stupid video that takes off for no reason but the fact that they are young and attractive. Nothing I can do it about it. Just wanted to complain and I know the interwebs will listen.

Might be time for plastic surgery. Or a time machine. Doc? Marty?

Unfortunately, there's not much that can be done about that to be honest. Some YouTubers are in fact very appealing to a lot of people and that's how they grow. I usually just ignore them unless they actually put out good content. Don't let it get to you though. They might have a better physical appearance, but you can always have a bigger brain.

Whoa! Take it easy. This is a forum where we chat about YouTube. Was I crying and saying that attractive YouTubers don't work hard? That everything is given to them? I did not. I talked about bad video content that does well because of attractive YouTubers. I am commenting on the fact that there are advantages in life and some have them and some do not. I love the community here where we can discuss our success and failure and look for support. This my friend is not support. This is the type of response that should be flushed down the toilet. If this grinds you, then take a hike off this forum.

Think of what you have right now that you can offer to your audience at this time.
Some go for the looks but it's mainly the content that overall determines the channel quality.

Also, you both look fine just as you are.

I think that might have something to do with it but I also think content is King. When you are barely starting out most likely you wont get as many views but if you continue to share them on social media and continue to upload consistently more people will start noticing your channel and potentionally you will grow bigger. Just my thoughts

So you changed your mind by the end of your post! My point isn't that you HAVE to be attractive to have success. I'm just saying that it gives those blessed with good looks a leg up before they even start.

To be honest good looks helps in all aspects in life, damn it sucks to not have the looks hahaha

I understand what you're saying. I know some "good looking people" right now that started a channel and they make a video gets a lot of view, but the comments are all about their looks and hardly any on the actual video.
I tell myself when I feel down "true talent does not go unnoticed" So I just hope one day I have that talent.
