Good Content versus Good looks

Hey if you got it flaunt it. I'd certainly do it if I could. I just wanted to vent about it. I click on thumbnails of good looking people too.
 
totally feel you here. i have a channel that, for awhile, i was ahead of in subs and views, then they went daily and started down the good looking chick route. Instantly they blew ahead of me in subs. yet still don't get as many comments or views per video. Now they have almost double the video uploads. I makes me agro a bit cuz i get lost on what i need to do. I don't want to go daily. i have too much in life to go daily. It would take away from my family.

This is insightful, but don't get too hung up on the pretty ladies stealing our views and just keep learning everything you can to make your content better and more exciting! Take some free or cheap film production / video editing courses. Learn about lighting, creating depth in your shots to make them look more interesting, composition, etc. Take SEO courses to get your videos ranking better. Do market research to figure out what topics are going to get the widest audience reception etc.

Don't get discouraged for too long, just get better! :D I'll have a look at your channel and get in touch with you later. Keep on keepin' on, man! :D

Thanks. I'm not discouraged. I have faith in my content and skills. I've been working on video for quite a while. I just wanted to complain about it am lucky to have a commulity like this where people actually listen. Take it easy and I'd love to hear what you think about my vids. I might not be much to look at, but my twin is gorgeous.
 
Yes the look matters but you still can go around it by offering extremely interesting rant and/or info. If you can fire up the analytical centers of your viewers brains and keep them engaged for at least few minutes - you are a winner!
 
I feel you man... I really dislike my kind, (if you know what I mean) young teenage girls who obsess over the attractiveness of a person, rather than appreciating what they create. I create very unique and weird content and I know that's not going to get me anywhere, because I am not like a lot the popular youtubers who make effortless content yet have millions of views and subscribers because they are attractive... It really gets on my nerves!
 
I disagree with this thesis, look at Casey Neistat arguably one of the best Youtube content creators and he's not 'Pretty' in anyway shape or form, but he thrives on Youtube through sheer content and character.

:) Being pretty helps i guess hahaha

Lol my channel is about trying to look good and ramble but I'm or not cute enough to get more subs or it just doesn't matter. I always feel like it more who you know on Youtube what helps you further then what you do! There are some real gems out there unnoticed, ugly and beautiful alike!
