I disagree, A attractiveness is subjective, and B I think it is more about connection to the youtuber - as in more connection because you can see their expressions and such. Might be true even for a fat neckbeard, as you say.

Well this is my opinion but I think that it's the facecam that makes a let's play video different from a playthrough or a normal gameplay because you don't just watch a game, you see a person playing it, someone you can relate to, someone who can be considered as a friend.
The facecam adds that human touch that makes a normal video something better, even if videos without facecam are good anyway, but I prefer the facecam!
