You place it right before the part that everyone was waiting for, or right before something everyone wanted to see.

Example: Guy is trying to prank his girlfriend and she just walked in the house, the prank is in the kitchen. As soon as she gets to the living room and right before she gets to the kitchen? Commercial

If you have videos over 10 minutes long, you may get an extra option for ads in the middle of your video. That mid-roll ad should be after the 7 minute mark.

Omg thank you commenters, I had no idea about midroll ads. And also that if a video is on certain topic those ads can generate more revenue.
