Cyberlink PowerDirector 13. It's not the best but, it does a commanding job. The interface is easy enough to understand and the features are mid-range. It's no Final Cut or Adobe Premiere but, I think it's the best ~$100 piece of editing software.

Why are all of these programs so expensive? It doesn't make sense

Because they're professional software systems made by giant companies? They're a lot cheaper than they used to be, too. Final Cut Pro is like $300 now, it used to be several thousand dollars. Same goes for stuff like Adobe. Nowadays for $50/mo you have access to literally everything in Adobe's Creative Cloud instead of spending $600 per application.

I know it's 2015 and people think everything software-related should cost less than a medium cappuccino but believe it or not when you have an enormous software corporation making extremely sophisticated applications complete with 24/7 support and regular updates it's going to cost a little more than the change you'll find in the couch.

I use Adobe premier. There is like a subscription you can get with Adobe to have access to all of their programs for a monthly payment. It's like 50$ a month normally. But they have a deal if your a student you can get it for 30$ a month instead. My bf and I share it because he actually needs it for his line of work and he kindly offered to let me use it as well :)

Mostly Adobe Premiere and After Effects, but i also use from time to time Davinci Resolve for color grading and now i am going to try out new (free) hitfilm 3 express that's combination of Premiere and After Effects within one program with nice interface (yet it's little bit worse, but considered it's free it's the only in my opinion good program for video edit that you don't have to pay for)
