The small stay small, the big get bigger.

Great advice, thanks. Although I'm all for fun it would be nice to have some subs
It's like having an internet army, it shouldn't be given to irresponsible people like me. The best advice I can give you which wasn't in this guide, and something that I've used myself, is to always think "I wanna make the next video better than the previous"

With that mindset my channel has improved alot.

Great article and it has some helpful advice. I was hoping to ask a few questions. I just recently started my channel and I plan to keep it a rant/vlog/comedy sort of deal. So far I have advertised my channel and each new video on facebook and twitter. I have done some video replies on related videos and comments if video replies are not allowed to check out my channel because I have a related video/s. I have posted my link on reddit which gave me some views, but I always get the thumbs down on the site and I think maybe one subscriber from it. Recently, I have been playing around with AdWords and it seems to be working out great as I'm getting views and subscribers. Is there anything else I can be doing during this beginning phase?

Also, should I create some sort of promo video to use on adwords? If so, do you have any tips for making a promo video?

Thanks in advance. :)

I think that this is the ONLY one that really works. Those few subs u get with social media and a future here and there.. if your vids are average quality, u will stay a average channel. Try to make your videos special.. and always better than your last one. Details like sound quality, a nice banner on the bottom in your video with text.. a intro, music choice. etc etc etc. Quality will always be awarded at some point

First of all theres a huge market for vlog/rant/comedy, so you can't post theese things on Reddit and expect anything. If you don't fit Reddit's narcissistic meta, then you will only end up hurting your channel.

As for adwords, I have never used it, but my experience in paying for views/stuff like that (if that's what you mean by adwords) then it's usually not long term followers you get from that.

I suggest focusing on the rant/comedy if you wanna make a gateway video, either ranting about something that's big at the moment, or making something fun and creative which hasn't been done before that appeals to a wide audience.

I really need to work on those "gateway videos"! :)
They're a major passing point if you want substantial growth, I mean yes there's the sloooow 3 subscribers a day, but trust me once you got a few growing gateway videos you can look forward to 100's of subs a day.

I think with every video u upload, is a higher change that people see your work. I have 17 videos now, and 10 / 30 subs a day. I think, when i have 30 videos, I can welcome 20 / 50 subs a day. and so on. Right?

That's absolutely correct, and this is especially true for gateway videos, the more the merryer.

It's like multipliers really! :)[DOUBLEPOST=1367606325,1367606271][/DOUBLEPOST]
