The Cons of Joining Fullscreen

Honestly, I joined for the banner, and it has driven a lot of traffic to the sites listed. Now everyone is getting that feature, and I am left with Fullscreen taking my money essentially for their Gorilla campaigns which I can't use in my niche.

Hence, why the new layout pisses me off. lol

The split you get with AdSense by it self, is far greater, than AdSense Split + Partnership Split.

If I wasn't partnered right now, I'd be making a lot more money.
Not always true, however some people do make less under a network. I make more. Why? Because Fullscreen is a major network that sells its own ads. The ads they sell pay more than the Adsense ads when the run on your channel. I joined Fullscreen because several of the channels I talked to that were my size said they made about 20% more than they did under Adsense and that was after Fullscreen took their cut.

I also know a few guys in the network that make less than they did under Adsense. The difference is in the content. While you can get higher paying ads through a network it's still up to you to retain your viewers and to draw them in. The better your videos are at doing this the more you will make.

The reason we are able to make more money for our partners is because we direct sell our ads for partner's channels which results in higher CPMs which leads to creators making more with our network than they would just with YouTube's direct partnership, regardless of their revenue split. This, along with the Gorilla campaigns we offer, make our monetization services one of the best in the industry. :)

This may be, but in my experience, even compensating for the low ad revenues this time of year, I am making much less, especially since your gorilla campaigns come off as tacky and as just advertising. And where as I make binaural beats which people listen to to sleep, they don't need me chatting about a popular YouTuber before my video.

Also, these campaigns often have extremely low payouts, (1000$ for 30 People the last gorilla campaign I saw, which wouldn't make me anywhere as much as just monetizing my own videos.)

Obviously this is all personal experience and may not apply to everyone, but in my experience, I would much rather NOT be partnered with anyone right now, not just Fullscreen.

My views have increased steadily for almost a year, as well as my subs, views are not the problem. Again, in my experience, even compensating for the low ad revenues this time of year, I am making much less.

Again, a lot of the revenue performance falls upon the content creator. To say globally everyone will either earn more money or lose money through a network is inaccurate on both accounts. Fullscreen taking a percentage of your revenue doesn't automatically mean you're going to earn less, I know that for a fact with my own channel and earnings this isn't true. You can earn more through Fullscreen through premium ads assuming your content meets the algorithmic requirements set forth by Google and your videos are marketable to Fullscreen advertisers. You creating engaging videos with proper tagging will do more for your revenue than you may think.

If networks weren't beneficial to many content creators they would cease to exist. Most of the larger channels belong to a network for a reason...

I don't know if I made it clear, but this situation was truly personal and that it doesn't apply to all networks or people. I have personally earned less, and watched my money go to Fullscreen. Now with the banner being given to EVERYONE, as I stated earlier, the benefits of partnerships as a whole to me, are shrinking seriously.

The biggest CON for gamers is obviously the lack of publisher license. Yes, you "should" be ok as the FS rep said but should be ok doesn't give content appeal weight or protection should a publisher decide to strike you.

I have concluded that I do make LESS money with FullScreen as opposed to Adsense alone. But with the gorilla campaigns, I am able to break even and possibly make a little bit more than with adsense alone.

If you are a small channel that cannot easily generate 1,000-2,000 minimum views on every video that you publish, then I'd say you are better off with just Youtube's Adsense only.

On top of the gorilla campaigns, we do get free royalty music and sound effects.
