This is... I don't really have much to review man. Like this is a whole different kind of vlog, and it doesn't really lend itself to a "review". As a critic I'm looking to see if it's entertaining, if you're giving tips I tell you if they were relevant and if you edited well and made the video entertaining, if it's comedy I tell you how your jokes hit me and if I laughed or think it needs work, if it's music I'll critique the song and performance, but this is you talking like you would to a friend. It's just you telling people about your life, you're not upping the energy for entertainment's sake, you're not showing off an artistic skill or trying to be humorous, I mean, you're basically just pretending the camera is a close friend and sharing some things about your life and where you're planning on going to school. This means there's very little for me to review. All I can say is your energy is a bit low, you don't seem enthusiastic, but I don't get the feeling that you're trying to. I could mention that you didn't stutter or seem ultra nervous, but other than that there's just not much to review here man.

I think you'll get more from this thread if you show me one of the reviews you were talking about at the end of the video or if you ever make a montage or a comedy video or something, this kind of video just doesn't lend itself well to a review.
 
Yeah I guess you're right, I didn't really put much thought into what I wanted to get out of this review, I just posted my latest vlog and waited for a response. And in reply to some of your comments, you're right, I'm not trying to be funny or entertaining, my videos, so far, are basically just me in front of a camera, telling people about things I find interesting or that I don't agree with. If it wouldn't be too much trouble, I'd like for you to review this video, it's one of the review videos that I was talking about and it might give you a bit more to go on. Cheers

You have a great personality man, and you just are naturally funny and humorous without even trying to be. You come up with stuff off the top of your head that works quite well for you, however, some of it seems a little bit... like you're reaching or grasping at straws a little. Almost contrived? Like you've got this personality you've cultivated that I'm going to call your "persona" and you're riding off of it and it works, but at the same time you are just winging this off the top of your head and it shows in parts. I loved the red baron song you sang, I loved saying that "rising dough is a big commitment" I loved you asking your subscribers if they could retrieve that dream for you, that's all great, but alot of the in between stuff was not too entertaining. Not saying it was just horribly boring because just your quirky personality is somewhat fun to watch, but if you upload often that's not gonna hold people's attention for long, and the comedic elements would need to be more frequent.

If I may suggest something that I do when I'm improving a comedic video. A perfect example of where I did this is my shout out to Kayleigh Kill. Most of what you see is improv, but I knew where i was going to take it, I came up with the voice changing through mouth wash bit to open it up, I knew that when I mentioned her being attractive I was going to switch to my "fancy jacket" I planned out the "you'll never catch me pot of gold!" joke, I thought up her "kayleigh kills but it's not her fault" song and did it all in about oh.. 30 min before filming. The rest was off the cuff.
This helps because on the one hand, I still have to rely on my persona to be funny, but on the other, if I'm floundering I have 4 main jokes I know I can get to, so it's like little checkpoints to go to if I start to ramble or not know what to say.

So I'd say winging it is good in your case, you have the personality for it, but make a blueprint as well, think up 4 or 5 good jokes to go to and then use your knack for improv to get you to each point humorously. I think your videos would benefit from it. I don't really think I can rate this video just yet, but I look forward to hearing from you again. Have a good one!
