PARTNER NETWORKS ON YOUTUBE!!!

you make a valid point. theoretically you can make up quantity of videos with more views on the ones you have but the time take for quality can't always be proportionate. i admit I can't think of a solution to this. In truth it didn't actually use to be that way. back in the day many of the most subscribed youtubers didn't have a lot of total videos.

I honestly don't know what you are talking about with the other stuff., but whatever. I still maintain that are actions can change things.

Can anyone tell me and this is a serious question why oh why its such a big thing to become a partner lol are people trying to make a living or is it just the banners and thumbnail is cool?
sometimes as a smaller youtuber, becoming a partner can help a lot for the promotion of your videos - having a personalised thumbnail makes it easier for people to understand what the video's about more. And I guess the banner is going to make your channel look a lot more professional :)

however, being a smaller youtuber as a partner does not make enough money to support a living or anything like that, however, once you do start growing people can easily make a living out of it. I guess having a second income in your life is one incentive to become a youtube partner... the again, monetization of videos can do the same thing :/

I think a lot of it is about feeling validated; you spend all of that time on your channel, and then somebody recognizes your efforts and offers you to work with them on the project, because they believe you are good enough to be profitable. It offers a sense of validation.

Yes I know this is one reason a lot of people go after it. Unfortunately there is a mindset that if your not a partner your content must suck. This is wrong and it makes me sad to see people feeling this way. Somehow not having that little badge means your somehow not worth watching or being paid attention to.

I wouldn't go that far and say people think they suck, it's moreso to comfirm their awesomeness; if anything most people on youtube are far too confident. People think they're awesome, and that gets confirmed with that little "partner" title. Of course, partnerships are more about networks than status and content nowadays.

partnership is a status symbol so if you dont have it your not considered you know part of that in group. LoL I have never been into such things in life it tends to bring out the worste in people far to often that quest for the shiny at the end of the road. Anyhow I will proudly wear my non partner status if it means I can take my time and produce something that I dont hate the finished product. If the system were not so heavily gamed I probably would feel differently about the entire thing unfortunately I know its heavily gamed. That quest for the partnership shiny has taken its tole and I quite honestly dont like what I see. /shrug

I agree that it's not worth as much as others lead on. I'm just stating what I perceive to be the value others find in a partnership.

UL I really don't understand what you're so hung up about. Alot of partners make great content. I didn't game the system or manipulate stats or use whorish techniques to become a partner, I just applied and got accepted. And my reason for doing it was to be a part of a team, and to be able to monetize. All those annoyances of adsense end at partnership, no more getting denied for dumb reasons etc, you also have a team of people working with you to help you brand and market your channel. And yes, it is about money, but you act like as soon as people become partners they just quit trying. After becoming a partner I started trying harder, I work for fullscreen now, I don't want to let them down. And just because someone wants youtube to be a job doesn't mean their content isn't quality.

The way you paint it it's like you're saying that people who want to make youtube a career are all greedy money hungry whores who will do anything to make it on youtube. I didn't tell people to "like fav and subscribe" before I was a partner, and I'm not doing it now. I haven't stopped making my humor random and quirky as to appeal to the masses, I didn't start putting out pop songs, hell my new music video is my weirdest one yet. What I did do was try to go the extra mile to do new things and think of ways to make my channel more interesting, and I'm still looking into possibilities.

For me being a partner says to the average viewer that you are official. The thumbnails are a big deal because as you're looking through seeing just random screen shots of vlogs and the like, suddenly you see this flashy artwork that stands out from the rest, and it makes it look like the person who created it has "arrived". As far as networks partnering based on stats and a numbers game, I'm proof that isn't true. Fullscreen accepted me soley by content. I hadn't even broke 300 subs at the time, and got between 200 and 500 views on most of my videos, and they still accepted me. I've seen alot of quality small channels get partnered lately.

The way you diminish it and try to say it's just some coveted trophy or bragging rights is pretty disrespectful to those who worked hard to get their partnerships. I was lucky, and still baffled I was chosen quickly, but alot of people have to apply over and over and get denied over and over, and I've seen first hand how much that can sting for some people. When you finally get accepted it's so validating, you feel like your hard work has been recognized. I haven't seen very many examples of partners flaunting it myself. We get excited, we make a video to celebrate it, but then we go back to trying to make quality content. I really don't get what's making you so disillusioned with this whole thing.

I am not hung up and i am sorry if you are offended however like you and others I can say what I feel on a subject.

I feel better for saying it and I will say it because this is a forum that allows people to have different opinions. The fact is if you can't see it then nothing I say will change that. I have been through these craze gold rushes before I know how they end. Lets simply agree to have different opinions if that is okay with you. I am not trying to change what you do but I dont have to like it or agree with it. That is what makes the world a cool place to live in.
FYI i have nothing against valid earned partnerships that make sense. yours makes sense . i have a right to not like it when people game the system beef up stats artificially so they can make money off of companies and call it theirs. You see I am one of those people who has to research this stuff for people I work with and for. Sorry to say I dont like it when ad dollars are spent on pretend traffic and fake views so people can take home a paycheque!

i opened up my keyboard for once you see on this forum there is only one side of the equation and if you are not in agreement with it your expected to stay silent. I have been quite silent most of the time i felt like saying something for a change. I have offered to have it deleted to moderators. Its still here.
