When you’re starting out on YouTube, it’s easy to get stuck in the same traps that hold back so many creators. I see these mistakes all the time and the good news is, they’re easy to fix once you know them.

Here are 3 common mistakes I see all the time and how to avoid them:

1. Waiting too long to upload
Perfectionism kills momentum. The fastest way to grow is to publish, get feedback and improve with every video.

2. Ignoring thumbnails and titles Your video might be amazing, but if nobody clicks, it won’t get watched. A clear, eye‑catching thumbnail and a title that sparks curiosity can double your click‑through rate.

3. Chasing the algorithm instead of serving viewers The algorithm doesn’t buy your merch or subscribe, people do. Focus on making content your audience loves, and the algorithm will reward you naturally.

I teach these principles in my beginner training, along with step‑by‑step guidance on channel setup, branding and growing your first 1,000 subscribers.
