Why do some people say Macs are better for editing?

Because they have better resolution and better colors and picture quality.
And their not exactly superior, but preferred.
From my experience they help and their practically made for creation and editing as opposed to PC being for just about everything else.

Although I agree Macs are superior for editing, there is no such thing as a computer that has "better resolution and better colors and picture quality." All of that depends mainly on the display being used, and somewhat on the graphics processing unit, which is only a fraction of the overall computer hardware.

I assume it was a reference to the built in retina display being better than average.

I own 2 PCs and an iMac. The only reason for the iMac is because I occasionally test iOS apps and needed xcode, which only runs on Mac. I played around with other features and found my iMac greatly lacking compared to my gaming PC in terms of resolution, graphics and overall performance. To boot the iMac cost $300 more than my far superior PC. This ks just my opinion and my personal experience, but I'll never buy another Mac if I can help it.

Well of course it won't compare. Macs aren't built for gaming and haven't been since the 80s and early 90s.

Not even, if a PC is using the same specs as a MAC than the mac costs much much more, that is the point we are trying to make, Macs are overpriced pieces of editing machines that are destroyed by PC's with lower price points

You are jumping steps here. It's a legitimate question. iMacs are not as powerful as a gaming PC. They aren't meant to be. They are designed for home use for the average consumer. If she was comparing a Mac Pro to a gaming PC, we have a different scenario. Please, stop getting caught up on prices and work from the ground up. Price is not everything. Performance is a key factor and the key point you're missing is that iOS doesn't suck away from my computer's function like Windows.

No, my PC has way better specs across the board, and was still $300 cheaper.

Well then you're performance test is exceptionally biased. As for part prices, obviously picking your own would be cheaper. You have to consider that buying a Mac is like buying a pre build PC. You can't really compare something you create to suit your needs to an all purpose machine.
