As long as you monetize, that is. You can upload quite a lot with no trouble if you do not monetize. And as a small youtuber, you might just want an audience, it shouldn't be any trouble not monetizing ;)
 
gamers no doubt has to be the most saturated market on youtube there is just SO many out there and honestly most of yttalk is gaming channels.
 
gamers do not have it the worst ... vloggers do. if your a gamer complaining that its too tough the grow, you`re doing something wrong. I'm sure you hear be original 24/7, that doesnt mean just think of a new series. Have some sort of value .. Tips on a game, thoughts on a game that sparks discussion, offer SOMETHING. I had the same problem for a long time but this summer i really got it going. Not saying im some original creative m'fer, im just saying that uploading clips of you and your friends playing cod isn't going to offer value to anyone aside from you and your friends watching. Oh, and uploading daily really helps too.

Vloggers def. have it harder imo. Who's going to watch a vlogger talk about their life that's unknown to them?! It's tough, unless they really have an interesting life. If i was to vlog, i'd def. start out doing pranks, to offer some sort of value (laughter) to people watching, and have vlogs along with that. And gamers always have higher audience retention on youtube as well
 
I guess both have it quite difficult, gamers because they have to try and stand out when there are thousands and thousands of other channels uploading the same games/style videos as them, and vloggers have it hard too, thinking of the idea, trying to make it different from other people who have done a similar thing, loads of editing, finding the place in the house with decent lighting/decent background, thinking of what to say, trying to be entertaining. etc etc. Who knows. Everyone has it hard at the beginning though, getting noticed is extremely hard for everyone! Even people with amazing videos!

Edit: Just re read what you wrote, if you're only talking about actual vloggers who walk about with a camera and show everyone their daily lives, I think this has got to be the hardest one, you can't really just start out doing that, you need to start out doing pranks or beauty or funny sketches, etc. If you literally just start out showing people your day by day life, it will be pretty much impossible to get people interested unless (like others have said) your life is very very interesting!
