Raging about popular YouTubers not giving shout outs is just dumb... If one of the people I'm subscribed to decided to do such a thing, I would unsub very quickly because they would have THOUSANDS of people to shout out...
And I would literally never look at the thousands of channels being shouted out... Imagine if PewDiePie shouted out for all of his subs who wanted a shout out. It's not greedy. Subs are real people, not just a "high score". If somebody likes your content and subscribes then that's awesome. You can feel proud to know that there's somebody out there who likes what you do and wants to continue watching. If you get 100 subs from mindless idiots who don't even enjoy your videos, you've earned nothing but a tiny amount of adsense pocket money...
If I see a video with a collab of people and I like the other people in the video, I check the description or outro and links to their channel are normally there. Try collabing with people (No, pewdiepie will not collab with you) and possibly help your channel like that. You may also gain some friends and have fun doing it...
