Which famous youtubers help with shoutouts and stuff ?

If you really don't see any link between this statement

Yes, I know Bill Gates does a lot of charity work... This is also not relevant at all to anything being said...

and this one

My point is, just because somebody has a lot (Of whatever you're talking about... Subscribers/money) that doesn't mean that they should then give out what they've earned by working hard for no reason.

it's not my reply who reached a new level of dumb...

Some of us don't consider there to be a distinction between YouTube and "real-life showbiz". It's also worth noting that many "real-life" celebrities do pretty poorly on the YouTube platform.
OK, perhaps "real-life" is a bad choice of words. English is not my native language, so I apologize for the mistakes that I may make. As for the fact that celebrities do pretty poorly on YouTube, that's because there are not a lot of "offline world" celebrities creating quality content on YouTube. I've been checking out the channels of Charlie Sheen, Snoop Dogg etc., and the videos are simply not entertaining to watch. And they also use terrible webcam quality. Why would you watch those celebs in 240 p, when you can watch them on tv in HD?

YouTube is a personality-based medium, and the biggest asset a YouTuber can grow (more important than views, subs, etc), is audience trust. If I were to say "Go check out [insert terrible channel]" in one of my videos, the implication is that I value my audience's time so poorly, that I would send them to watch something they're not likely to enjoy. I hurt my own credibility by doing that.

And from a practical standpoint, if I were to send my audience over to terrible content, the next time I were to give a shout-out, fewer people would click over - I'd have broken my audience's trust.

People have to be selective about who they shout-out and collab with, out of respect for their own audience, and for other YouTubers who may be more deserving of a recommendation.
Once again, I never said they should give out shoutouts like Jehovah's witnesses hand out pamphlets. Being selective is a must. But it's also a matter of personal preference. What one person may find interesting may be completely boring and stupid for another person. Does that mean that I should stop being friends with someone just because he recommended me a few books or movies that were not to my taste? I don't think so. At least, it has never happened to me. I never unsubscribed from any of my favorite youtubers because they recommended other channels that I didn't enjoy. More over, there are some channels that I really can't stand, and they are in the "recommended channels" section of people I'm subscribed to.

none from my knowledge the only thing about popular youtubers is most of them are only willing to collaborate with youtubers their size or bigger.

Is there any famous youtuber who gives shoutouts and is open to colaborations to new youtubers, such as starring in their videos, or asking a comment question segment (like RWJ used to have) or other stuff like that, in order to boost the latter's popularity ?

I'm following EpicLloyd and NicePeter on facebook. :giggle2: Maybe I should ask them for a shoutout for my first video...

A few YouTubers have viewer submitted things like the comment question of the day. Wheezy waiter ends the video with a viewer submitted wink, jacksgap has a viewer singing his theme song and sxephil has viewers submit reviews of films for his movie club series. As for actual shout outs I've never seen a big YouTuber do it in a video but quite a few give out shout outs on twitter an on other social media.

Probably none of them. Unless you become good friends with them, or get to know them first :)

What you've written so far makes me want to avoid doing any sort of collaboration project with you. Do you know what kind of time/effort/money it takes to run a larger channel? Calling them "Ungrateful ********" is probably one of the worst strategies I've ever heard of. I do a check on everyone I work with-if I wasn't on this forum, it wouldn't take me long to find what you just wrote and I would kill a collab project instantly after reading this thread. If you want some advice on working with other youtubers, it's really simple. Be nice and show some respect. The youtube community is much smaller than you think and word can travel very quickly if you p**s someone off.

We hide this little Merlion stuffed animal in all our Thursday videos and if you find him, you get a shout-out in our Monday video. You're more than welcome to try and find it each week (granted, most of our audience is under 13 and a "shout-out" to them is just a fun way to get their name at the end of our video). But hey, it's better than nothing :P

I mean, some do... if they reeeeally enjoy your content. Like egoraptor, he really enjoyed jontron's videos when he had barely any subscribers... he started a gaming channel with him, and they're almost at 1 million subs now.

Actually, it was "Ungateful ******** ... :p" (emoticons are meant to enhance online communication, and we should all know what their meanings are) and if anyone is so butt-hurt about comical insults, then they're probably not my type of people. I usually follow open-minded people with a good sense of humor. Otherwise I would get pretty angry when RWJ swears his audience, tells them that he's doing their moms and that their dads are alcoholics.

Should I feel offended that the way you give me advice is belittling and critical? :D You make it seem that you are certain about your knowledge being superior to mine regarding the mechanisms of the YouTube community, which may or may not be true.
