Photoshop is a POWERFUL tool!
I use it for custom thumb templates, logos, etc.
I even learned how to use After Effects to create my own channel intro from scratch.
If you are a student, you can get the entire adobe suite for around $20 a month. Then you get the bonus of having Adobe Premiere.
