When did you notice your channel started to grow?

Well, I don't know how it would work out for you, but my method of doing it is finding someone else's content that is already popular and re-releasing a corrupt version of it.
Lol I've been thinking of doing something like that[DOUBLEPOST=1467345214,1467345175][/DOUBLEPOST]
God if this is what sub4sub is around here I am going to get flagged for it a lot hahaha. Oh I forgot a thing that might help. Go exploit the hell out of the indie market. Great games and not everyone plays them so you will probably be more likely to pop up in searches
Where do you find indie games like that???

My channel grew a lot at first. Well when I say a lot I got about 100 subscribers in the first month. Been struggling to hit that 200 though hahaha. I have a pretty awesome community of fans though who all come watch and comment on the series they like. I think the best way to get regular viewers is to just appreciate the crap out of the comments section. When someone comments just run over and give them a big ol' virtual hug and tell them they are awesome. It helps to also find other creators who do similar stuff. I have 3 channels in my subscriber list who I get on well with and we all hang out off YouTube and chat. They often watch my stuff too.

I am actually interested in a way to appeal to the non-creators. I haven't figured out how to do that on social media yet. Judging by a few of my subscribers I know they aren't creators and they watch my stuff occasionally but I feel there is a large, untapped market I have no idea how to show my stuff.
same here

I really like Steam. I picked up a whole bunch of stuff on the sale! If you want to give me some genres you like I might be able to help you out. Gamejolt is also awesome. I used to really like this site called Jay Is Games but they stopped updating their site which makes me sad. They still have awesome games on there though

I noticed I was growing faster back when I was first starting LPs. Then again that was 5 years ago when competition might not have been as big as it is now. But I was also uploading more regularly and really tagging my videos. These days I still am growing but at a much slower rate.

Steam is great for all of this. A few great stories can be found in RPG maker games. I love them so much. It sounds like you are going for some pretty niche videos especially if you are going to be doing story driven ones. Which I love by the way I would stalk the hell out of your channel. If you head over to Jay is Games and type in story driven or story rich or something like that in the search bar you should find some awesome ones. And a lot are free! If I was you though I would definitely look into RPG maker games. I find they don't get a lot of views on my channel but the people who do watch them are loyal as hell and absolutely love when I do them

I started to see a more steady growth when I recently reached 300 subscribers. My feeling is that YouTube started to promote my channel more from that point on as I didn't really change a lot although I started to understand more about social media around then.

I would like to start off by saying that I DO NOT DO YOUTUBE FOR FAME! I don't do YouTube so no one will watch either though...lol. I didn't come to complain though!!! I've been doing YouTube for four and a half months now and really enjoy it! I feel like I have pretty good content and everything, but unless I promote absolutely every video on every social media in existence, I only get 4 or 5 views.

You have to promote in order to get views, that is the name of the game. Everyone does it (including myself, although at times I forget on purpose and I notice promoting doesn't do much for me anymore). Exposure is everything. You might tag one viewer, who in turn shares your content to another person. You only have to connect to one right person and you could take off. It should not be something you stare blind on however.

Another suggestion after I checked out your channel, limit your upload frequency. Nothing is more annoying than getting bombarded by content to a subscriber, especially if it is similar content. Instead focus on 1 or 2 a week, and edit edit edit. Get out all the dead spots, make it flow, shuffle things around.
