We'd like to invest in a more complex editing program where we have more control over picture quality as well as more advanced editing options. Most of the large family fun / toy channels use editing techniques (some a bit gimmicky but effective) to hold the attention of the kids watching and keep it fresh. This can be said for effective sound editing as well.
We have no idea how after effects is used, but this is also on the to-do list as is lighting and better sound recording methods.
I'm on the wall about adobe because of their business model, most likely I'll end up giving in so I can use after effects, right now i'm trying to get into learning how to animate with gimp so I can start making things like my intro (a friend made it). I tend to like 2d more than 3d for this stuff. good luck with that goal ^.^[DOUBLEPOST=1455754842,1455754702][/DOUBLEPOST]
Everything about the movie making process. I came in knowing absolutely nothing about editing, and now I'm a pretty decent beginner level at Adobe Premiere, so I want to become expert in that. I want to learn how to create beautiful shots and set up a schedule so I could film real stories. I'm a playwright who would love to write a web series, but I don't want to start filming that until I can make it look less amateurish.
I also am fascinated with green screen techniques and special effects, even though I use them in the most rudimentary ways right now. It's a whole new world for me and I really want to explore it.
I know very little about green screens, I should probably learn about them at some point, but i'm still on the fence about doing a face reveal. I've watched your stuff, and I think you'd do fine with a web series, I'm wanting to do a little voice acting to work on my craft so that Idea is intriguing to me ^.^[DOUBLEPOST=1455755191][/DOUBLEPOST]
Just wanted to let you know my daughter is crazy about your "George The Self-Esteem Cat" series. 2 or 3 weeks back she binge watched all of them on your playlist. You can be very proud that you could hold her attention for so long, trust me! I watched quite a few of them too and I must say, you really really have a talent for this and I love the message you convey in each video. I think your channel would boom if these videos were shared to the right people and they promoted them.
As for the web series you intend making, that will be awesome... just don't stop doing George's videos pls. Also thought your 3 ingredient recipes are great... Sorry, that was a bit off topic, but I've been meaning for a while to tell you how we've enjoyed your videos.
Green screen is also something we plan to experiment with and stop motion.
Thank you so much! That is so nice of you to say! George is my absolute favorite thing to do, and I'm so happy that he's reaching people, because every weekend when we dig out the puppets, it feels a little bit strange to be doing. You just made my day!
I aggree with you
@Fun with Sarah,
@xingcat I think channel is a breath of fresh air to youtube.
Also don't apologize for going off topic, I made this page because I want the community to interact with each other and make new friends ^.^
@xingcat you keep up the hard work mate, I expect to see good things from you mate ^.^[DOUBLEPOST=1455755282][/DOUBLEPOST]
I'd like to get better at more types of humor than just what I find funny.
And also I wish I understood lighting.
That's a good goal to have, sadly I can't give any points of advice with it XD
Lighting is about the same with green screens with me, I need to set down and learn but I haven't yet

I want to learn some more skills that would be suited to a video journalist. I would like to film people and have them tell me about their work. I'm not sure how to set it up so they look good and what questions to ask and how to ask them so they are comfortable giving heartfelt interesting answers. I would also like to be better at using Motion 5.
You might actually benefit from taking a class at a local community college on journalism. I would suggest finding small channels and start out by doing interview, right down some questions you'd think everyone would like to know and go from there. As far as the heartfelt answer, you could always try to discuss with them before and give them an Idea on what you're going to be asking during the interview, that way they have some time to put some thought into it. But I'm no journalist.
sadly I've not experience with motion 5 =P[DOUBLEPOST=1455755653][/DOUBLEPOST]
I want to be confident enough with my own narration and ability to edit, to be able to one day make an actual documentary that people will notice. Maybe even put it on the Film Festival circuit.
I can understand that! My best advice is practice, practice, and more practice! but other then that, how I'm working around my issue with it, I've got a group of friends that I work on projects with, it helps a bit. I'm starting to make my own solo content now, still a little rickety at it but i'm getting better^.^
so finding someone to collab with might help you out immensely![DOUBLEPOST=1455755795][/DOUBLEPOST]
This is such a great question. I've actually had a list of specific skills to learn and improve on and I've checked off quite a few already - up next I have an invisibility edit, masking, and a bit of chroma key. Baby steps, but I really love post-production
Thanks! I wanted the community to interact with each other ^.^
It seems like the extent your going it might benefit you to try a community college course, at least for expediting the process. But you seem to be level headed and have this under control
