What is some good, free image editing software?

Hello everyone,

I was wondering if there is any good image editing software that any of you may know of. I'd like to be making some better thumbnails and channel art, but ms paint doesn't quite do the trick (as you can see from my existing thumbnails).

I use Paint.net and so far it never left me on foot. Alternatively there's GIMP, they are both free of charge.

You could also make them in LibreOffice Impress.

I use GIMP for everything! It's easier than it looks. The interface is weird, but it kind of makes sense after a while haha.

I use GIMP myself. The interface is a little confusing but nothing a few internet tutorials could fix. To give you an idea, here's a very basic thumbnail that I made today

Yeah, I think I'm going to try to learn GIMP. It looks like it will be the best choice.

I make use of a free to download and use software called GIMP 2.0 (graphics image manipulation program) I believe is the full name. It can be a farse to use at times if you don't take a few tutorials here and there to learn the basic tools.
