I'm really surprised no one has mentioned Nvidia's ShadowPlay (It's not actually called that anymore, can't think of its new name) - I've been using ShadowPlay for 'everything gaming' for the last year and it's output files are superb quality.
You can also use it to 'record the last x minutes of gameplay', so you don't have to have it recording all the time and not having to worry about missing something is also not a problem.
It's free software, so long as you run an Nvidia GPU.
