Rising above self esteem issues as a youtuber..

You will get trolls. It's all part of it. It's how you handle them that makes the difference. There are plenty of other people out there who are kind and supportive. For every trolling comment you may get two or three that aren't negative in any way.

I think you should become more comfortable in your skin before you Youtube! Take some time to grow into appreciating your beauty and who you are so no one can destroy you :)

Some people will never be comfortable with their own personal appearance and telling them they can't do something until they are dooms them to never be allowed to practice that activity. Youtube is for everyone, even people who hate themselves. Boogie2988 started out mocking himself on youtube and grew into a popular youtuber. He also grew as a person. Sometimes youtube is the answer, not the thing you need to avoid.

YouTube I feel will boost my confidence. I'm not going to be a wieny just because I'm nervous. If I had done that with my music and singing I'd never have got up on stage for the first time, tried out for and made it into my band, started my own traveling band, etc. I'm still nervous. I just want pointers on how to get over it.

In the words of David Brent (The Office, UK version), You have to be thick-skinned in business.
Whether you're the tea-boy or the manager, people will try to shake your spirit.
Do not listen.

But seriously there just comments, ignore them. If you build up a big enough fanbase, they will back you up anyways and will always have your back, trust me!

Well not even for YouTube, but life in general... you should never let someone else bring you down with their negativity. Constructive criticism is one thing, but assholes should be ignored. I imagine a lot of folks who hate on others are just unhappy with their own lives.

Fortunately, you already know what to expect. Its not an "if" it is an absolute truth that you will get nasty comments. Its not personal. There is NO one who is so perfect that they don't every hear those type of comments. Supermodels get scrutinized. So accept some unbelievably rude comments as a cost of doing business. And remember, that most likely the meanest comments come from people who spend their whole life being miserable. Don't join them.

Haters aren't worth your time, everyone gets the odd hater and you just have to ignore them. I am only a small youtuber yet I really enjoy meeting new people on youtube and I think my self confidence has risen because of it and I hope it will continue to rise. Don't be afraid and don't let anyone bring you down :)

I feel everyone said some very good things here. I will just add this people do not know who You are and the people who are hating on you more than likely have insecurity issue themselves that they are not proud about. as long as you do not take it personal you will be fine over time it will get easier so the best thing you can do is start tubing now.

I don't really get hate on my channel (hopefully it will be at a minimum if it starts), but what I would do is to look at the comment, figure out if there are any valid complaints. If there are any valid complaints I would use them to make my content better, if not I would know that user is an asshat and wouldn't bother with him anymore. Just my two cents.
