Rising above self esteem issues as a youtuber..

Some people will never be comfortable with their own personal appearance and telling them they can't do something until they are dooms them to never be allowed to practice that activity. Youtube is for everyone, even people who hate themselves. Boogie2988 started out mocking himself on youtube and grew into a popular youtuber. He also grew as a person. Sometimes youtube is the answer, not the thing you need to avoid.

Your opinion. I just wouldn't advise putting yourself out there to millions with low self esteem- there's nothing wrong with building up confidence and self acceptance first. Mocking yourself is not a sign of low esteem in my opinion, why highlight your flaws if your insecure? It was a branding move.

You're[DOUBLEPOST=1398614452,1398614408][/DOUBLEPOST]If everyone did that sweetie, there wouldn't be a YouTube. .

Before the channel I ran now I had a youtube channel that I did for gaming. I got a lot of hate from people that were just straight up rude. I eventually ended up closing that channel after reaching 70-80 subscribers. Now I run a new channel where I do comedy and I still get hate. Basically you just can't get away from the haters. So just ignore them. They will eventually leave you alone if you block them from your channel, delete their comments, etc.

Its funny with YTtalkTV we have had hardly any issues with haters or people posting stupid comments, only a few from banned members but other than that we haven't had much problems at all. I think I have been called fat maybe twice which is surprising, I expected things to be worse.

I think it really is up to you, whichever you are most comfortable with, I don't think it matters if you don't mind seeing yourself in a few years on camera when you had less self confidence. Not everyone has it right away especially putting themselves out in front of the world, its not the norm for everyone and isn't within most peoples comfort zones. You can grow self confidence whilst Youtubing which I think many people do when they begin.

I have social anxiety, and it's really hard for me to so a video on my own:/ but i eventually did the other day, i do get scared people will laugh or say hate comments then i thought.. If i want to be a youtuber i need to push myself.. And i am aware that there's going to be people put hate comments and i've just prepared myself for that! Hope this helps?:) xx

This was the perfect answer. Thank you!!!!!!

I've been exposed to it since I was 13 (20 now) and I haven't cared in a very long time. Adapting a fake "IDGAF" attitude isn't going to work, since you're just pretending not to care. Let yourself feel the feeling those types of comments give you and eventually you will go through the issue and not try and dodge it.
