Rising above self esteem issues as a youtuber..

There always will be Trolls ;) and haters,Just to break your channel down..
The best way is just to ignore them,Dont give them feedback, They love that

Hey! I was wondering if anyone had some advice or even experience in overcoming self esteem issues as a new or even seasoned youtuber?
I will be completely transparent here and tell you all that I have yet to post any videos because I am scared of rude and/or threatening comments.
I have seen people get slammed so hard by people sitting behind a computer spitting hate, and honestly...that scares me a lot.
How did you get past this and just make a video and not care what people thought?

Heeey. I think the main thing is you have to remember that everyone gets some kind of hate on YouTube, don't take it personally, it's not you. It's just them being pathetic, they'll do it to anyone and everyone. I deal with it by just deleting the comment and blocking them so I don't have to think about them again. Hope this helped :)

I actually have a lot of experience when it comes to that, and can totally sympathize with where you're coming from, and my best advice to you, is to survive it enough that you realize it doesn't matter. I was put in the cringe section of Reddit for about three days, and during that time I was literally getting like 10 hateful comments every hour, and it absolutely destroyed me emotionally, I was a nervous wreck, I had no idea where it was all coming from, I had no idea how to play it cool, but then you would have some people who would come in and defend me, until those other people that they sucked, a few people subscribed to me I guess because it made them look at my content harder because they wanted to see if all of that negativity in the comments was true, and you can know I'll kinds of things in your head. You can know that anyone who would say such things is not worth your time or not someone you would want to be friends with or have respect for, but once it happens? There is an involuntary nervousness that comes along with it, there is a gut reaction that really hurts and there is no way to just not experienced that, but what I can tell you safely is that after just dealing with it for the two years or so that I have been doing YouTube, somewhere back there around a year ago or so, it just stopped meeting anything to me. There are plenty of people who think that what I do is really great, there are people who get a lot out of it, there are people who relate to me, people who look up to me, so who are you going to listen to? People who understand you? Or ceaseless people who are telling you terrible thing that you would never say to another person? You just need to survive it long enough that you get used to it, it takes time, you will get your feelings hurt, but if you want to be on YouTube it's just something you have to push through. And I will say that every time it happens and it's bothering you, eventually somebody will come and build back up again, because as full of trolls and haters as YouTube is, it's full of really awesome people as well.

There's is only one way to get better and that is to do it as much possible. Just get use to speaking to a camera and then eventually it'll be like talking to anyone else. Practise makes perfect ;)

Just go out there and make videos.

I've been called some extremely vulgar things and it hurts, but you gotta get past that and still have the desire to make videos for yourself.

Trolls are ALWAYS going to be part of everything in your life, it's just something you need to learn to deal with.

I agree with most others, don't pay too much information to the negative comments.
That being said, though 99% of them might be utter useless non-constructive crap there might be a negative comment every now and again that actually holds important information that can help you make better videos.
So don't completely ignore them, but "just" don't let it bring you down.

Being fearful of something, and letting that fear stop you from doing something, does not make you happy. I'd rather try it out and be unhappy about the result, than be sad about not even having tried it.
So I think it's great you're working with this issue. It does takes practice and sometimes frustrations, but after a little while it gets a lot easier.
