My Setup.

The Forum Cat, feed me. Meow.
I'm just trying to see where I stand compared to other people and answer any questions about my setup that anyone might have. I'm very basic and simplistic (... in a way) and am ready to hear any input.

My Camera: iPhone 4s
Capture Software: Filmic Pro
Lighting: Two regular bend-neck lamps from wal-mart using eco-bulbs.
Green Screen: Green Sheet... From wal-mart.
Editing computer: MBP 2.23 Ghz, 8GB RAM, 64G SSD + 500G HDD
Editing software: iMovie (open to suggestions)

What's your setup? Questions about mine?

When you film with your iphone, do you film with the front facing camera, or the one in the back?

Hi Bryant, I use my rear facing Camera. I also forgot to mention that I mount my phone on a tripod, so that might make things easier for you to grasp.

I am quite sure he would use the one on the back... the front camera on the 4s is still VGA quality.

right, I figured, but how do you view yourself in the shot, then? I found it difficult to place the camera. And since I do a lot of cut shots, I constantly have to check and readjust...

p.s. the "grasp" part sounded a little condescending :]

Suggestion: Get Final Cut Pro X. It is amazing!

I am SO sorry if it did, I definitely didn't mean to sound that way. People ask me how I get my iPhone to stay still without an angle and I have to get in the tripod. Google Diffcase and that's how I get it on a tripod.

Okay as far as self viewing, it's simple. I place a tall-standing mirror behind my camera. I initially did this because Filmic pro would overheat my phone sometimes and stop filming (updates fixed that, praise goodness). But after the update and no more overheating, I started keeping it there anyway just to see where I am. Thanks for asking!
