Massive drop in views on kid channels

Kids TV like Nick Jr. and Disney Jr. are filled with toy ads. What is the difference between TV and video in these days? If they start labeling kids content as just that, then only kid appropriate ads should be targeting kids labeled content.

Also, how do they use the excuse that 5 year olds watching a kids video don't understand the difference between a sponsored video and one that is not. Last time I checked my 5yo didn't have her own credit card. She can't just run out and buy something on her own becauase she saw it on Ryan's ToyReviews. Me as the responsible parent will decide what I buy for my kid and if it is actually a decent quality toy or not. Whether the video was sponsored or not, I will be the deciding factor if it gets purchased.
i guess the major problem is that these kids were being impacted by ads that arent about kids or toys, million of money being wasted by putting ads on these videos

This is both a YouTube problem, and a advertiser problem. It's not a "you" problem. The issue here is that YouTube, the company itself is trying to claim innocence when in reality, it's their "oppsie." You can post the content, but the issue is that YouTube doesn't have a way to signify that this "content isn't for kids." Likewise, on the side of the ads, Google does have ways to target by age or content, the problem is - advertisers don't see these options and instead cry about it like a baby by false reporting the content so that the channel goes away. It's a mess, but YouTube laid out a plan that would make channels harder to be in circulated in kids population.

This means, the new "kid friendly" algorithm will make it extremely hard for a youtuber to grow. Yup.

Without notifications, comments a lot of channels will be forgotten

Not Ryantoy as they are having their 2nd biggest views for the month. But yet some of the channels my kids love with millions of subscribers are becoming obsolete fast.
It doesn’t seem fair and I wonder what really is going on behind the scenes.

what are the channels. Are they unboxing? a lot of unboxing channels got hit

I do not think it's going to be a general disaster, I'm also developing mobile apps for kids, and for a while we've been choosing the age for our apps, and for now the revenue has stayed the same.
Do iTunes insert ads or google?
