Massive drop in views on kid channels

Well she is saying 90-95% loss in revenue vs 10% the article says

"Loup Ventures, a research firm, estimates YouTube’s revenue from children’s media between $500 million and $750 million a year. Paring back targeted ads would dent that revenue, although Google has the ability to make its contextual ads more compelling to mitigate the damage, said Doug Clinton, a Loup Ventures analyst. He pegged the potential impact of YouTube curbing targeted ads at 10% of its overall intake from kids’ videos-- so about $50 million. “That would be the worse case, in my mind,” he said. "

Perhaps 10% long term after all the adjustments have been made. But immediate effect will be more drastic. Corporations can be slow and move on quarterly basis. Maybe closer to 90% immediate drop and then stabilize closer to 10% as companies adjust how they use google ads to market their toys and games?

Let's make a petition to FTC at change.org They cannot just throw us away like this. Maybe the government needs to look into FTC and fire the chief Joe Simons

Can YTTALK help us and start the petition or one of us needs to do it.

Look I get it. I will be impacted financially by this as well. I have a channel with almost 300 million views and I invested a lot of money/time into it, but how can we as kid content creators expect to be trusted by Google let along the public with this kind of reaction?

So your petition basically translates to, "Hey FTC how dare you enforce existing codified law enacted by a duly elected Congress protecting kids, do you realize I was making a ton of money by making kids content in direct violation of this law and now I will no longer be able to pretend that I am not violating the law."

Also the government can't fire the FTC chairman. Only the President of the United States can remove the chairman and it has to be for inefficiency, neglect of duty, or malfeasance in office in accordance with 15 U.S. Code 41. Also the Republicans on the FTC were more lenient than the Democrats. The Democrats wanted to do more. It is funny how nobody had a problem with anything when the money was flowing. I tried to get other channels to unite to ask Google to comply with the law, but it was crickets.

They will have a meeting about a possible COPA revision. Send them an email COPPAWorkshop@ftc.gov and ask them to discuss how kids content creators wil be able to sustain themselves. Who will be making content especially animations.

COPPAWorkshop@ftc.gov

"Individuals and organizations may submit requests to participate as panelists and may recommend topics for inclusion in the agenda. The requests and recommendations should be submitted electronically to COPPAWorkshop@ftc.gov. "

can they send more traffic and non targeted ads to balance the void? How will big brands advertise toys and food targeted towards children. They will have to order more non targeted ads?

Most advertisers never wanted their ads showing up on kid channels to begin with. The ads are showing up on the kid channels because a parent gives their device logged into their adult account to a kid. The ads then play because it is targeted to the habits of the adult from when they used the device. The targeted ad has no idea that a kid is now watching. The reason that Youtube kids has hardly any revenue for content creators is because they can't really sell ads until Christmas time when they sell toys.
