Is there no more room for Let's Play/Gameplay channels?

Right! But I find it extremely hard to measure if my personality for example would be good enough.

It's not for you to measure your personality just like your opinion it is for others to do that if they like what you say how you sound etc then they will most likely sub the hard part is being found but the longer you do it and the more videos you upload the better chance you have there are many gaming channels but not that many great ones and a probably around 80%+ newer Gaming channels give up within their first year you have to play the long game and then YouTube rewards you.

Every man and his dog has a gaming channel, I'm sorry but I will be truthful, the harsh reality is you have to have something really special to make it in that category now a days.
People may think I'm being harsh and ruining dreams but I would rather look at it as a reality check before anyone gets their dreams trampled on.

My advice? Think outside of the box, find something new that not many others are doing, get creative!

Here are honestly the only way I can see gaming channels work these days.

- Funny content (Luckily I've always been a jokester and my friends are retards so my channel is based around comedy and memeing around)
- REALLY SKILLED. You can pull off a gaming channel making montages on FPS games if you're half decent. I also upload montages occasionally because I can snipe pretty well.
- Game reviews. If you take this route you need to do a video on every new popular game releasing ASAP. This would obviously be hard because all the big youtubers will be doing it.
- Guides / Tutorials. This route isn't that bad but the video needs to be something that a lot of people would be searching for or something that is extremely uncommon. Like a funny glitch in a game or something.

Straight up "Lets Plays" and "Gameplay" channels don't work out that well most of the time simply because the people doing them either sound extremely boring or are a complete copy of all the other thousands of channels that revolve around it. I'm not saying these channels won't work out, because they can and they do have potential, but if you do them you need to at least be pretty entertaining and make jokes throughout the video. Skip past boring parts and go straight to your highlights.

You're not the first one to tell me and I appreciate your cold hard truth. I've been doing a lot of thinking lately, and I don't have time or patience to public 4000 videos to become a Let's play gamer or something in that fashion. Perhaps it's time to mix things up...

Perhaps it is indeed time to move away from Let's play and Gameplay. The thing is though, I do enjoy making that content. But if nobody's going to watch it, it still hurts in the end. Rethinking has started...

If you enjoy doing letsplays and gameplay then that is the only reason you need don't get discouraged and that is the best reason for doing it because there is a good chance it will show your passion in your videos some do videos for fame or money but if they haven't got the passion they won't get either.

Gaming is one of the biggest growing global markets in the world and will be here long after we are ash people will always want gameplay/ letsplay channels and while there is demand people will supply and not all the Big YouTubers will being doing it forever they will have to stop some time and then that leaves space for new channels to take top spots.

If you don't try you will never know and then can't succeed but you are better off doing something you enjoy than something you don't but may have a faster chance of getting off the ground.

Its super hard to grow a gaming channel, I have one for a while, it didn't do too well. I think after a month of gaming I had like 10 subs and 5 of them were family members lol, it was terrible. But It looks like you're doing pretty well for yourself so keep it up! Just stay original, don't try and be something youre not because then you will fail.

You got a point. I'm just giving tips anyway. But you're right, the best thing for anyone to do is do what they enjoy. If one uploads just for the idea of "hey I'm going to get really big really fast and make mownies" they won't get very far.
