Is sub for sub good?

Well said!

Edit: Oh I just thought of this point also:

We all want views, right? But one of the keys to unlocking the win is to put videos up that you want to be seen --- NOT only because you'd like to be share it with people but PRIMARILY because you wanted to make that video and show that you did what you wanted.

Edit 2: (I swear I'll stop thinking about this eventually)

ALSO consider this, if you use sub4sub, you can't honestly appreciate your fans and friends the same way. I actually write down the names/usernames of noticed fans so I don't forget they 'thought I was cool.' I screenshot and save comments and compliments to remind me what a community is.

And that's ultimately what your goal should be. Community. Friendship.
Obviously, you should strive for success. Just don't let yourself lose track of how you measure success. If you start to get down on yourself, find a new way to look at it. Stay optimistic. Stay positive. Believe in yourself and look to make friends with your fans, not just fans.

These are something I actually learned from being on YTTalk. I have only one, MAYBE two people, who I know watch my videos. I don't have any videos with more than 50 views, but I know I have at least one fan who watches for my uploads. And that means a lot to me.
To me, that's enough right now.

SORRY TO FREAKIN' RAMBLE AWAY! I sincerely hope you have a good day! I will do my best to not make an Edit 3.

We've had quite few years of being on YouTube, so have a bit of experience, and I can promise you, "sub4sub" isn't a good idea. All that will improve is your subscriber number, nothing else. You want to be able to generate active users and a viewership, but sub4sub does not do that. Just keep doing what you're doing and enjoy yourself! Don't think about the subscribers. You're still starting out! We've been making videos on our current channel for nearly 3 years, and only have 450 subscribers. So my advice is, don't sub4sub, just keep creating! :) have a great day!

3 videos on a channel isn't much mate. You need to upload like 3 a week for a number a months to encourage people to subscribe

21 hours! thats how long your channel has been alive, just 21 hours!

we get a lot of impatient new youtubers but this takes it to another level!

I want to know if sub for subs are great or not because I'm trying to grow my channel but I'm getting absolutely no subscribers whatsoever.. even though I have three videos up already :/

Wow 3 videos! You expect traffic with 3 videos? In YT algorithm's eyes, I am sorry to say, that means nothing. The absolute minimum you need these days to get any sort of traction is 30+ videos, perhaps even closer to 50. And I'm talking fantastic video-craft, exciting thumbnails, almost perfect SEO. Keep at it, you've taken the very first baby step in a long arduous journey.
As for s4s, it's not "bad" as such, but you must know what you are doing and the repercussions and risks of it. What I would recommend for your stage of growth is relationship4relationship. Find channels similar to yours and engage, comments, share info, watch each others' videos, etc. One by one.
You need about 1k subs (and associated views) for the algorithm to start noticing you and giving you test placements on other small channels' recommended, and about 2k subs (& views) for a pickup in traffic from search and better suggested placements (in my experience).[DOUBLEPOST=1473622564,1473622404][/DOUBLEPOST]
I'm going against the current a bit on this one but here's another view on it, take it as you wish :)
I like thinking that goes against the grain. Your view is spot on, always consider the risks and rewards of any strategy you adopt!

Sub4Sub is probably one of the dumbest things sweeping the YouTube community. I learned, even before I started my channel, that Sub4Sub was something that really wouldn't end up with results. So sometimes, if someone has thousands of subs but only has like five or ten views per video, they're a Sub4Sub-er.

You will only gain inactive subs so you will have tha same amount of views as you did before and that is more important than your subscribers. You get ranked in the search engine by views and watch time not subs.
