Is It Too Late To Start On YouTube?

One more thing I can add is that if it's true that it's too late for YouTube, anyone who isn't even born yet, won't have a chance at all, even though online video will be around forever, in YouTube form or not.

It's like someone in 1928 saying it's too late to get a career in radio or 1965, it's too late to work in tv. Things change, people leave and new ideas are always being thought up

This is something I've been thinking about a lot lately and now I've found this forum, I'd like to get your guys' opinion on it.

Having only started uploading videos a few months ago it can be easy to feel that the market is already saturated and there are too many YouTubers already out there doing what you're doing. Is there ever a time that is too late to start on YouTube? Have we missed the boat?

What got me thinking is that recently I've noticed a few of the bigger YouTubers saying things like "when I got started YouTube wasn't big so I've grown with it" and "when I began there was much less out there and fewer people to compete with" - which I understand, and in some respects I agree. When the original 'famous' YouTubers first signed up and started making videos there were a lot less channels, meaning they were easier to find, and now there are more users than ever they have been able to continue to grow in accordance with that.

But on the other hand this is the biggest YouTube has ever been and it is quickly becoming one of the biggest social media platforms/online communities in the world, so is it just as good to start now whilst YouTube is at it's peak?

I find myself always torn between "I've started YouTube too late" and "YouTube is just going to get bigger and bigger so now is as good a time as any".

What're you views on this?
I don't think it's too late at all. There's channels that start on every big game release (gaming side of YT) and some of those channels be blowing up just from dedication and hard work and just being great. For example one of the biggest Pokemon Go channels with over 100k+ subs and started uploading when pokemon go released. Also I see people channel dying dang near daily, but at the same time I see people gaining crazy amount of subs.

I would like to think it is not too late. I mean, fame...that is a bit of a longshot. It is not impossible, but with the billions and billions of views YouTube gets overall each day, it is becoming saturated, much harder to be original, and much much harder to be discovered. However, while fame may be hard, living off YouTube (the way I see it) seems more likely. Personally, I would love to live like this, but I'm more of a level-headed person and I think that if I'm enjoying what I am doing, then that is good enough for me

I don't think there is a perfect time to start youtube. You either do it now or never. Sometimes I think I should of posted content on my channel years ago so I can be up there with the big dogs. Then I think to myself , I was at another place in the past. There is not use of looking backwards. You gotta focus on the now. You may be late in the game but at least your doing something! Plus youtube may be getting bigger by the minute but not everybody stays.

In my opinion its not too late because anyone can make it on youtube its just how you get started off some people may be friends with a youtuber who already famous and can started from there so in my opinion its never too late.

Of course it's not too late! You just need to be active, make relevant videos, shocking videos, fun videos, inspiring videos, casual videos, whatever you want to do, do it with your whole heart and don't give up. For example, Kyutie is a pretty new youtuber and she already reached over a million subscribers! Natalia Taylor is also quite new and she has 600 000 subscribers! You just need to grab peoples attention and make them want to stay. Also, I'd say it's good to reach out to other youtubers and promote each other, become friends, support each other, because it really does help to build a channel :)

(I mean... I don't have a lot of subscribers so maybe I should shut up, but I know that you can make it if you really fight for it)

I don't think that youtube will ever die.. Youtube is a special kind of platform, and it's the first of its kind. There will always be people leaving and joining, like a river flows. It's never too late, make great videos, and views will come.[DOUBLEPOST=1488278300,1488278176][/DOUBLEPOST]
