Is it bad to tell someone to like and subscribe at the start of your video?

Lots of YouTube creators do it. I think at this point, hearing, "Like, share, subscribe" anywhere in a video is pretty much noise at this point.
 
I think it depends on how you ask. I usually include it at the end, but not a lot of people watch all the way through. Putting it at the beginning reaches more people, but can be annoying to some.
 
I don't even say it and just leave a text reminder in the endcard. I figured unless they're actually interested in my content they wouldn't even do those things anyway.
