If Youtube didn't have a view counter and couldn't make you money wuld you still make videos for it?

if you love what you are doing then yes =) money is just a simple thing in the world it cannot last long it will be gone maybe in a seconds, minutes, hours, day, week and month but making people laugh or smiling while watching your video they will cherish it until they gone in this world =)

Making people smile is the best gift god made at are life =)

what if you had no idea how the audience was reacting though. You don't think that'd make a bit of difference? You put out a video and get NO response. have no idea if it was liked, hated, barely even noticed, you just don't even know. You think you'd have the same level of drive to do it? If so man that's great I'm not gonna say you're lying but, I sure wouldn't haha, I have to be able to know my audience's reaction or I might as well be making music for no one in my bedroom again.
Film making is something I've had a passion for since I was young, it's my purpose. I've only recently found the means to finally start making videos. I've been at it since May and until 3 days ago I had no audience at all. I've had nearly no response to any of the videos I've made. Yet I still make them because whether anyone is watching or not I'm driven to do it and whether anyone is watching or not I continue to make them because with every one I make I get a little bit better. I have my eye set on bigger things for the future but in the meantime YouTube is my playground/practice field.

I admire your perserverance, actually I'm a little envious of it. If I had gone that long with no audience, I don't think I could have kept such a positive outlook, you're a credit to the cause friend.

Thanks. It hasn't always been easy because don't get me wrong, I desire an audience, and always figured they would eventually find me, but this is something I've wanted to do since way before youtube even existed. In the past few days thanks to YTtalk I've gone from 10 subs to 15, you bet I'm excited about that!

I think many of us on here, and I direct this at me more than ANYONE else, could learn alot from you.

Yes I would still keep making animations, however I would always want some sort of feedback as many have mentioned before. If you don't get any feedback it would be like creating a video, burning it to a DVD then walking over to the window and throwing it out. Without any sort of feedback there wouldn't be any point to it all. Like those folks who collect Mildew and fingernail clippings.. what's the point?

I would but I would work less hard than I'm doing.

Don't get me wrong, I love the medium but the reason I work at least 5 hours/day on my channel is because i'm thinking "Zomg this could actually become my full time job someday".

So yeah I would continue for the love of it but I would be less hardcore and more looking for a job :3

Well no actually, the counter makes ZERO difference to me. In fact I would almost enjoy not knowing who was viewing and not commenting. it's the people who want to tell me what they thought that make me want to keep doing it, so view counter's not going to make even a slight difference in my motivation. Take away my comments? That would change EVERYTHING. I would probably not do it if I couldn't receive feedback.
true but people have to watch your video to comment on it so you would have to potentially base your views off of your comments if that particular video even got any comments.I really couldnt see anyone of these aspects not being there because you essentially need all of them to build a successful video community in my opinion but interesting topic nonetheless

But I wouldn't even be basing my views on my comments trying to figure it out. Doesn't matter to me, as long as I have a little group of people discussing it, and I know that new faces are showing up from time to time, size is irrelevant. I will get a reaction to each video I put out from multiple people, and that's all that matters. However, I think you are correct in saying it would suck some of the drive away. For me this wouldn't be because it'd be less rewarding, but simply because there's really nothing to accomplish in that case. It's more just like, sharing than "growing an audience" that would probably lighten the "drive to improve"[DOUBLEPOST=1353600005,1353598285][/DOUBLEPOST]Another thing I just thought of, if you were just seeing new faces comment as your videos were going, but had no way to count the views, wouldn't be alot of need to do "trending topics" now would there? hehehehe
