Right then:
*I check the 'Adventuring with Bluebin' video. First thing I notice is the facecam. I'd advise getting a lighting set-up. Right now you're cast in shadow so it's hard to see the details of your expressions which undermines the point of the facecam.
*I'm not sure on this, but is the facecam covering up some game info (i.e. some sort of bar?).
*There are some pauses/not much of anything moments. If you use jump-cuts it'll help the pacing of your videos.
*Good upload schedule. A vid a day can be taxing but it's good to see the effort.
*Concerning thumbnails the number marker is very dark. I can't tell at a glance what it says (try something brighter e.g. white).
*Unless it's solely a channel for Elder scrolls content I'd advise mixing it up a bit. If it's only for Elder scrolls I'd advise adding other games in the LP lineup to add variety.
Good ideas, and a great start to a new channel =D[DOUBLEPOST=1457129749,1457128646][/DOUBLEPOST]
I just hit 1000 subs and would love a review of my channel so far!
I am mainly into informative videos. Here is one of them:
I do want to start doing some gameplay and maybe reviews and thoughts on games. Here is my first video following that idea:
Thanks in advance!![]()
Okay let's take a look:
*Good AV/thumbanil for the video.
*Not sure too much of what to critique on the context as I'm not at all savvy with game you're playing. But it sounds informative and decriptive.
I'll move onto the Super Hot video next as it's more my territory.
*Something that slightly put me off the video was the annotation of 'Like & Subscribe for more!' from start to finish. To me I don't want to see a sub suggestion before I've even seen any of the content. I prefer to wait until the end of the video for those who you know are invested in the content as otherwise it seems more like a sales pitch.
*Game audio could be a tad louder.
*Jump cut the quiet bits. If there's no commentary people will lose interest.
*Consistency of uploads seems to be doing well right now. However you need to keep it up in order to keep progressing.
Other than that keep up the good work, just don't push the like/sub/favourite stuff to hard.[DOUBLEPOST=1457130414][/DOUBLEPOST]
If you are still reviewing channels, I would really appreciate your opinion on what I can do to improve my videos. I have some ideas in mind but would always like a second impartial opinion.
Ok then, let's take a look:
*Okay so I started with layers of fear and here's the first thing I noticed: The facecam is waaaaaaay too big. You want to cut off the sides so there's just a little room between the edge and your arms but also it's really intruding on the gameplay.
*Audio quality is good, easy to hear/well mixed with game.
*Commentary is a bit too reactionary (i.e. reading the text, saying stuff like: 'oh no, ah, okay, um, ah' etc. People want to hear your opinion, thoughts, personality in these types of videos.
*Use jump-cuts to get rid of any filler. It'll shorten the video length and keep people engaged.
*With the text the title's a bit bland/inconsistent. It's a long title that doesn't look very neat. What is mean by this is that instead of:
'YOU WILL LAUGH AT ME OR JUMP WITH ME!!!!! - Layes of Fear Play through episode 1'
It would probably look better like:
YOU LAUGH WITH ME OR JUMP WITH ME!!! | Layers of Fear (#1)
^This gives a much clearer account of the information the viewer wants to know.
*The thumbnails are missing a lot of crucial visuals. For instance with the layer of fear video there's no imagery from the game. It's not showing people anything of the experience other than yourself so they have no idea of what they game is like. A much better way to add yourself to the thumbnail would be to cut yourself out of the photo and layer it onto something from the game.
Other than that I'd say make sure you have a regular schedule and stick to it. Try to make the games more focal to the channel's viewers and see how things go from there =]
