I Need Help On Encouragement

Let them think what they do, no matter how discouraged you are you shouldn't be put down by what others say :) Heres's something to think about, you were probably happy and fine with making videos and thinking of ideas before you were told it was nothing, right? So it's like that, just words, sounds from the mouth. It could mean anything, it just depends on what meaning you give it, an encouragement to make you never stop trying, or to stop.

My friend has one of the same problems too, I did get discouraged, but I got through it after I kept at it for years then people realized that its not something i'm joking about and I improved along the way. There are still a couple of people who make fun of me for it, but if someone says you suck, doesn't all of a sudden make it true :P[DOUBLEPOST=1377639290,1377638892][/DOUBLEPOST]-oh wait and also, Albert Einstein's teacher said he wouldn't mount up to anything...well, the wrongness of that teacher shows something, creates a message that can be applied to anyone :)
 
Have you tried explaining to your mom that, this is something that you really enjoy doing? Maybe she doesn't understand how important Youtube is to you. Sit down and have a talk with her and explain how you feel. Don't get mad or upset..just sit down and tell her that this is what you want to do, and you're proud of your work. Ask about why she thinks it's 'weird'. Tons of people make videos...millions of people lol....anyways, hope it all works out for you!

My girlfriend thinks some of my videos are dumb or weird, I just shrug it off and say it's a hobby. Then I ask her why she does some of the things she does, and it gets the same reaction, so we're even. She told me that she showed some co-workers some of my weird timelapse videos to show them the weird stuff I record. They all seemed to like the dogs running in reverse as most guys do, lol.
 
Just don't give it any attention and keep working to improve your channel. When I was a little >50 sub channel that got almost no views a lot of my friends used to use my channel as the subjects of some of their jokes. Now, after putting a lot of work in to make some good videos and develop a following, those very friends keep trying to convince me to let them guest star in videos.

It's all a matter of not giving a damn about anything involving your channel that isn't improving it in some way.

UPDATE.
So this morning I casually just said to my mum 'Iv'e got almost 150 subscribers on youtube now, and over 2000 people are watching my videos' She didn't say anything. Then I said 'When you get good enough you can get partnered, this means that theres a possibility of making money from my videos, so If that time ever comes will you let me do it?' She simply said 'No, I don't want you doing anything like that'. Then I told her how much it meant to me and how it was my passion, I also told her that other people do it and not just me. She then said she'll have to talk to Stephen (My brother) about it. I know my brother can be very strict sometimes.I'm now so worried. What do I do? HELP!!

I get the same thing with my brothers. You see, I have a band, but I got to keep this YouTube thing alive. Since we're musicians, he apparently sees that it only benefits me (which it doesn't). I can bring my band to this (if I save enough money for equipment) and do some awesome sh*t. Regardless, he is still mad. But I'll convince him one day.

For now, keep going and keep making. Unless they threaten to take your PC and camera away?
