Having more subscribers get your more subscribers?

I guess if you have more subscribers you get more views and then it's easier to find ya. And of course, it's all about the content.

More subscribers can bring in more views, it is a fact but not always. Some people do look at numbers so see if they should subscribe but I know youtubers who have higher subscriber number than myself but have less views and interactions. Some people will have a one off hit video that will bring them in a lot of subscribers but those subscribers don't always return to watch future videos, that being said I have subscribers who don't watch my videos anymore or never really did.

What I'm saying is just because someone has lots more subscribers than someone else doesn't always mean that their channel will perform better.

I think it is a cyclical process. Having more subscribers means that you have a larger base audience when you release a video. Since that base audience is likely to see your video posted, you have a good chance at getting a reasonable number of views in the first 48 hours. Getting a lot of views in the first 48 hours will improve your ranking for that video in YouTube's algorithm, making it more relevant in searches and related content, hence bringing in more views. The more views your video gets, the more likely you are to gain more subscribers from it. Then you're back to step one with an even larger base to start from since the last one.

I totally agree with beckyy! Some people subscribe to someone with alot of subs just because they are famous.

Its a domino effect really.

Having more subscribers means getting more views.
Getting more views means ranking higher in searches.
Ranking high in searches exposes you to more new viewers.
More new viewers means potential to gain them as new subscribers.

- repeat -

Do you think that channels with a high subscriber counts helps them get more subscribers? Like... Do you think people are more likely to subscribe to a channel that has already got loads of subscribers as appose to them subscribing to a channel with only a few?

From what I see happening there is tiering and positive reinforcement in the algorithm.

The more subs you have the more the algorithm gives you. Once you pass into the next tier you get even more.

Before it took 2 months to get 750 subs. Then it took 2 weeks to get 750. Then 1 week. Now we got 750 since Sunday so thats 3 to 4 days. We passed 10k subs, so I think we went into the next tier in the algorithm. Not saying this to brag just a fact.

If you look at Ryan ToysReview took them about 10 months to get 1 mill. Took about 6 weeks for another mill. Then a month for another mill. The more you have the more yt gives you.

The question is, how to get on that growth curve???

Exactly what @Lightsen said. Having a large subscriber count often gives you an additional chance to hook a viewer but can't turn rubbish into gold. That's why sub4sub doesn't work or only to a certain extend.
I remember myself checking out multiple videos of Casey Neistat because of his sub count but his content still is just not for me.

I grew allot when I was only at a 100 subs but now I'm at 650 and it's really came to a stand still so I'm not sure if it really helpt to be bigger I think the content needs to be very good and on point!
