For some reason most of the montages I make recently have been getting demonetized for containing violent content. Has youtube made something to detect violent games such as WW2 or Battlefield 1 and instantly demonetize them?

Just wanted to share the message I just sent to YouTube in regards to demonetization. I am actually really tired of this happening especially to creators like myself that only produce content that is safe. Do you think I was a bit harsh? I genuinely want answers from them. If they reply, I will be sure to follow up with what they said.

"Dear YouTube,

I am very upset at the current demonetization algorithm, as I know many people are. I would like to know why a majority of my videos are being demonetized before they are even fully uploaded. I keep all of my videos and my channel in alignment with the Terms & Conditions which is why I am having a hard time understanding this. I always submit my videos for review and within a day or 2 it is good to go. My most recent video has been demonetized for almost a week and this is simply not ok. I know I do not make a ton of revenue, but the small bit that I do, I would like to actually have it. My most recent video does NOT violate any of the rules, does not show any images of anything disgusting or harmful. In fact, my most recent video is harmless and just a few stories I shared. If someone on your team took the time to view it they would see what I said to be true! I could go on about how larger creators seem to have free reign on this site and do not get reprimanded for their actions that in fact DO violate terms, but I know you guys are aware of that. I would really like to know why monetization has not been restored to the video yet? If someone could please review it and get back to me with an answer to the following:
1) What triggered the algorithm to deem it worthy of a yellow monetization symbol? Was it a keyword in the title or description, a tag? I would like to know so I can pay more attention to them in the future.
2) If you actually think this video is truly not "advertiser friendly" I would like to know exactly what about it classifies it as such so that I can be mindful to avoid that mistake in the future.

Thank you for your time, I hope to have a response soon!

- Angie"

Don't expect something more than a canned response. It's not that the creator support doesn't want to answer more, but if they do, they risk the answer being spread to the public and getting even more PR disasters.

It doesn't need something to trigger it at all. After the latest fiascos with big YouTubers they just enforced stricter policies. But, if the so called algorithm and the AI can't determine a video as advertiser friendly, it will flag it as NOT advertiser friendly, to be on the safe side. That means even a perfectly suitable for advertisers video can still be flagged as not suitable.

The algorithm and the AI don't think. They are software programs that scan the videos and mark them as advertiser friendly or not.depending on criterias that YouTube won't reveal, because they will be abused by the creators.

For the record, I was first here to report the Yellow demonetization icon --> yttalk.com/threads/youtubes-new-high-low-for-monetizing-videos.265757/ and I was one of the earliest members that was hit with this problem. Since then, I had more than one thousand videos marked as "not suitable for advertisers", and 99.93% of them were restored after I appealed. So far I had issue with only one video of bikini girls dancing and teasing (no full nudity but still sexy dances) that was confirmed as not suitable. The situation bothers me a lot, since it reduced my productivity, but we are here because of the big YouTubers that went further and further to shock and please their subscribers and we got Adpocalypse 1, Adpocalypse 2 and now nearly Adpocalypse 3.

Yeah I should have expected no response and in return 2 more videos got zapped. It has happened before but I request a review and they turn it around within a couple of days. But this time they have not for any of the 3 videos and it's been a week. It is not like I even make much money anyway, but the few bucks a month I do make I feel like I should be entitled to it since I am an approved partner (have been for years, despite inactivity for 5 years) and I work hard to obey the rules and produce fun content. A few bucks won't get me far, but it goes along with my belief that creative types are either heavily compensated for their work or not compensated enough. I do not truly care about the money as I have a full time job and this is just a hobby I enjoy doing, but it is more just the principle of the matter.

Ok so I’m a bit confused with this whole ad thing

Have YouTube made it so that on any monetised video you get paid like 70% less?

Or is it the same £££, however if you swear or something in the video, your video may become unmonetized all together?

I’m confused.

My channel is clean and I never swear or anything, but I’m worried will my videos generally earn less as they have taken the money down by 70%?

Can someone please explain thanks

My most recent uploads had this happened. I would upload a video and just after being processed, they got the yellow, limited or no ads button. Then after just waiting for a few minutes, it was back to the green, full monetization button. I'm just wondering if this has happened to anyone else and if anyone knows why this happened. Is YouTube's automated machine getting smarter?

The bot would probably hit you, and then youtube realised their mistake, and turned it green again immediately!
For me, it has happen sometimes that the video turned yellow immediately after upload, so I had to make them review it, which took a couple of days!

It's all a conspiracy man.:wtf: Youtube wants to thin, and completely wipe out all small channels. They will make us bleed out slowly, cutting off our source of income, rendering us unable to gain the resources necessary for our growth. Then they will completely snuff out what's left of the undefendable channels (the good people) in the youtube community. Leaving only the top youtubers to do what they do every day with NO ORIGINAL CONTENT! We must RISE UP! Join arms! Begin the rebellion!
... too far? ok i'll shut up now.

Happened to me as well for the past few videos but since Jan so far so good, all green :D The AI finally realized lego mechs are friendly haha...
