Calling all YouTubers under 1000k Subs

You've been going for six weeks. If you watch a lot of the larger YouTubers talk about their success, all of them had been doing it for a couple of years before they either went viral and grew quickly, or they've just been growing their audience slowly overtime.

I like the idea of discovering channels, but I understand some of the points made. Many channels die overtime because of lack of motivation, or they were doing it for the wrong reasons. This will make it hard for YouTube to do discover, without pushing channels that may be dead in a few days or weeks.

If you're smaller and trying to get some eyeballs, SEO is your friend. Watch some SEO tips videos so your vids get discovered in search.... also, Twitter works wonders if you know what you're doing ;) So does Reddit if you've got some balls and can deal with some hate, haha

The problem with smaller channels like us is that we can be there one time but the next time our channels can be completely vanished. I am guessing that around 70 percent of the small channels will abort it's channel within the first period of him/her starting the channel. Now the good small channels out there get no attention because of all the other s****y small channels AND the good big channels.

SEO is the way to go! I've made 5 videos that rank in some search terms, 2 of which are ranked #1! Once that happens, you well get views everyday. How many depends on how often the keyword is searched. One video is 2 months old and got 2100 views. One video is a week old and has 800 already! So there's real proof that you can show up!

It's gunna take awhile dude.... Everyone is different.. took me a year just to get 100 subs..Don't stress out about the numbers bro! just make content cause you enjoy it and eventually you will start getting subs.. this forum helps a lot =) be active on here and you can make some youtube friends and collab if you wanted also.

I think some people need to re-read my original post. I'm not looking for a get-rich-quick button or a 100-1,000,000 SUB button. I've been working 6 days a week 10 hours a day producing original comedy and I love it but my point is that YouTube doesn't allow smaller YouTubers to be discovered.

I'm amazed some people can argue that fact.

I'm happy to work hard and go through the same as everybody else but YT need to help smaller channels been seen and a discover tab can and will help, if only the few.

Say YouTube implemented a discover tab... It still wouldn't guarantee a huge amount of traffic to your channel. You would be competing with so many other small channels (small garbage channels too) for the same thing and it would be completely random...like a lottery. Imagine your channel only showing up, 1 out of 10,000 times someone decides to hit that tab. Some channels will get lucky showing up several times in a short time frame and some won't. Also, there is no guarantee they will even watch your content. I don't see something like that helping channels grow.

YouTube already has a "discover tab." It's called Suggested Videos.

A Discover tab would be nice edition to youtube. I believe I remember the youtuber "I hate everything" Mentioning something about such a tab a few months back. It would make finding new talents easier i think.

This.

I recently went to a youtube creator lab and the main idea behind it is that youtube wants creators to make discoverable content and collaborate so they don't actually have to rely on youtube to get promoted. Look at the ideal person you want to make videos for and think of all the stuff they like. Shape your content to fit that and you'll end up on their suggested videos. You're actually better off collaborating with someone who has subscribers who know youtube, rather than ending up on a discover page that will likely be seen by mostly people who are just youtube browsers looking for trending stuff.
