He originally shut them off because of the problems caused by Google+ integration, he just never found a good reason to turn them back on. I personally don't plan on turning mine off for quite some time. He also directed people to his subreddit so the discussion could continue.to be honest, my entire channel was made to have random arguments in the comment section, i dont know from the outside looking in but im almost certain, i could handle the hate, its what i have prepared for, pages of "Your moma" jokes, just waiting for the moment of truth.
Shutting off your youtube comments is a BIG "f**k YOU" to all your youtube fans, btw, just wanted everyone who didnt know that, to be aware...its the only real engagement a fan can have and you take it away.
