Big YouTuber Totalbiscuit talks about feedback stress

Yeah he isn't the first to mention this. Many bigger YouTubers have mentioned that they try to ignore it and shrug it off but it gets to them after a while. I always see Minx tweeting about the crap she has to deal with in her comments as well the poor girl. What's even worse is she has to deal with it on other peoples channels too and so do they. A few days ago Diction posted a video, only to have pretty much the first group of comments dissing Minx :/ Pewds also gets s**t if he misses 1 day of uploading a video or if he makes a short video. I will say 1 thing though, they shouldn't be focusing on the negative comments. I see it so much, there's so many other nicer comments on their videos where they could be directing their energy, even if it's 1 good comment, I would take that over 1000 bad 1s any day.

I've liked TB and even a couple of years ago he was on medication for stress etc so he has been dealing with this stuff for a long time. I have a lot of respect for him, he has been one of the very few youtubers who I truly believe deserves to be successful. He makes high quality material and has a ridiculously high work rate for it.

I have to say, sometimes he does journalism better than journalists lol I don't watch all of his videos, but from what I've watched of his in the past, his wtf is, is an amazing series, the fact he can do it without having played the entire game is amazing too, or at least from what I can see as he does a new wtf is nearly every day and I've seen him review AAA titles which can take days to finish sometimes. That's 1 of the things I'm trying to work up to, I can't do a proper review without having played at least 75-100% of a damn game, a good journalist only needs around 45-60mins bloody hell. I've tried it once but that was a written review and it didn't work out as good as I wanted.

I get pretty much 95% of my information on the gaming industry from his content loool

I felt my heart crushing reading that... TB is infinitely passionate about what he does yet he that means he has to deal with a ridiculous number of idiots on a daily basis? It's sad, really.

Some comments in this thread are in serious need of a downvote button...

Anyway. Yeah, it was pretty obvious that he was talking from experience, when he talked about the Flappy Bird dev.

And I don't think that earning money can make you deal with everything. Yes, there are people who are lucky enough to earn money with doing what they enjoy but when you deep down do something because you also want to entertain people and advise them on what they should purchase or not this kind of feedback or pressure will tear you apart. The Wolf of Wall Street probably gives a s**t about others and just looks at the money not everyone is like that.
