Big YouTuber Totalbiscuit talks about feedback stress

i understand his situation,he can focus just on the critics he gets and not on the good comments,the problem is when you let a good comment get you,you expose yourself more to the negatives ones.i would like to help him somehow,but he got a challenge that i didn't yet face myself,i wiill just hope that he manage to deal with it and get better somehow,even if it means closing the channel.He got a lot of youtubers friends and a wife,i'm sure they will be there to support him
 
I wonder what Markiplier thinks, he has his own subreddit. People think there is abuse left there but I don't see it that way, stuff I have left for example, whilst critical at times, has always been constructive, so in effect, constructive criticism. The problem is, when you are in the public splotlight like that, people will presume to know you and will feel nothing for abusing you - just look at David Cameron, the Prime Minister of the UK, every Tweet he makes, the first reply is inevitably "F*!@ off Dishface"

Politicians are evil and have a track record of f*****g everyone over, youtubers on the internet, not so much
 
One of my favorite YouTubers, TotalBiscuit, has competely withdrawn from social media. It saddens me to hear that people's comments have affected him in such a negative way. I just wanted to hear from some fellow YouTubers about this. Do you ever go through anything similar? Do you agree with his decision? How should such large channels deal with this? How can we help some of these larger YouTubers keep their heads? Are there any other examples of this sort of thing that you can remember?

I'm personally not anywhere near big enough to fully understand what he's going through. I'd like to think I get it, but I probably don't. While I'm sad to see him go for the time being I fully support anything he feels will help him out. As I understand it he is just withdrawing from talking to his viewers, not from making videos. I hope he returns soon.

Seems he's just withdrawing from his subreddit. He'll be on other social media I'm sure. I guess when you're bigger, no matter how hard you try there's only so much you can take.

He said he already has his Twitter account being run by staff, his YouTube comments have been shut off, and his Facebook page is barely used. I'd call that withdrawing from social media.
 
to be honest, my entire channel was made to have random arguments in the comment section, i dont know from the outside looking in but im almost certain, i could handle the hate, its what i have prepared for, pages of "Your moma" jokes, just waiting for the moment of truth.

Shutting off your youtube comments is a BIG "f**k YOU" to all your youtube fans, btw, just wanted everyone who didnt know that, to be aware...its the only real engagement a fan can have and you take it away.
