Hi I wanted to start recording some game play and commentary videos but all the free software for recording seems to either corrupt or straight not work properly with my set up.

I've got a Lenovo Y50 as my desktop since I don't have a full desktop. And I have this HDMI wired to my 36 inch TV as my main monitor with the laptop screen acting as my secondary screen. I tried to set up to record both screen but the software crashes immediately when trying that and when trying to record just the gameplay screen the video file is corrupted. Any advice would be appreciated.
I'll edit more system details in when I get back to my computer.

Have you tried nvida shadow play? It's what i use to record and it's by far the easiest way to record stuff that also yields a super high quality. I think you have to download nvida geforce experience to use it and you need an nvida gpu but i looked up that laptop and it does have one.
