2015 CPM/post-holiday warning

We're still pretty flat. Reserved has risen, but Auction has not. Auction True View In-Stream and Auction display haven't risen, and they are the most important for us. But flat is better than continuing to fall!

I just know our RPM has risen and is rising steadily, I have no idea about CPM. The reason I don't really look at CPM very much is because even if CPM is rising but your CTR is low or falling, it doesn't mean all that much because people aren't clicking on the ads to make a difference. RPM is where the rubber meets the road on how much you're actually making per thousand views, which incorporates CPM and CTR. But as I say this, I just realized you're with an MCN so you don't have access to your Adsense RPM anymore! Among other things, that's one BIG reason I won't sign with an MCN, I GOTTA have my real-time Adsense at my finger tips! :)

Do you guys see any improvement yet? My Dec 2014 was superb but Jan 2015 was really bad. Seeing some improvements in Feb but not that good. May be because of global monetary situations :( I hope things may improve from March :)

RPM this February for me only 10% better than January.
RPM is really crappy this year so far for me (lower than same months of the 2014)

It is a bummer to see that a video is only getting 25% monetization rate and it has poor CPM as well.

Hey Mark, how do we see what % monetization rate a video is getting? I didn't realize there was that function? Our rates are still pretty low... views are much stronger which helps offset the low rates, but I'm hoping these rates rise! I was excited on Feb 1 because on that day our RPM was double that of Jan, but it then went back down substantially (still better than Jan but still very low). Not sure why we had a big spike on Feb 1? Maybe a big ad buy or something?[DOUBLEPOST=1424631592,1424631462][/DOUBLEPOST]Our Jan wasn't as bad as I was expecting because the rates were so low, but our revenue was only down about 40% although our rates were down over 50-60%. But we ended up with revenue that was surprising, especially if Jan is the worst of the worst. YouTube as a business ROCKS!

@Video Cranker
February 1 was Superbowl weekend, hence the improved ads statistics.

To check the monetization rate of a video, pick a video in Analytics. Then choose Ad performance in the left-hand column. You will see your Estimated Monetized Playbacks. Do the math with that number and the number of views the video has received. Even though my case unboxing videos are very popular, I get OK CPM and the Estimated Monetized Playbacks are OK. 45,970 views, 16,282 playbacks, about 35%
