I was curious to see what editing software other people use for their videos and what is good about it. This would help me a lot as I am thinking of getting a different editor for my videos but am not sure which one to get :D
I use Cyberlink Power Director 11 Director's Suite. I got a huge student discount on it and I just liked using it a lot more than Sony Vegas and Adobe Premiere. This is my main editing program, but I also use other programs for specific things like Microsoft Hyperlapse and Prodrenaline Prodad. Those two are mainly for stabilization, but the hyperlapse program does give a really trippy effect for movement, it's almost like drone footage. That program is free until October.

I'm in a pickle because for yours I've been using sony vegas which was fine for me but I've recently invested in a new MacBook Pro and I'm gutted that I can't use vegas on it. I'm going to be stuck with iMovie until I can stump up more cash to buy final cut I think. I would get premiere pro but I'm not keen on having to pay out for a subscription service.

I've used PowerDirector (currently using PD12) for over 5 years. Renders fast, easy to use, and lots of cool options without being overly complicated.

I use Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 11 it's just like Sony Vegas for a fraction of the price. I got it for $30 new on Ebay. Unbelievable editing software for the price, I couldn't recommend it more highly.
