I currently edit with a HP 1237c. I run Sony Vegas 11 I dont really have any problems with it but Im still planning on a couple upgrades.

Any other comments: This rig isn't as weak as it seems - I can happily run Battlefield 4 at a solid 30 frames. Made for just over £300 as well! :D

It's not a PC but Macs are insanely good at Video editing and Video editing was on my mid the whole time I was sorting out my "rig" so here's my specs + extras.

iMac:
CPU - 3.4GHz Intel Core i7 (turbo boosted to 3.9GHz)
Memory (Ram) - 24GB 1600MHz DDR3 Corsair (2x4gb, 2x8gb)
Graphics - Nvidia GeForce GTX 680MX 2048MB (2GB)
Hard Drive - 1TB Fusion Drive
OS - OS X 10.9
Screen 27" (2560x1400)

The Rest:
1TB WD External HD (USB 2.0)
2x's KRK Rokit RP5 G3
R.A.T 7 Gaming Mouse
Apple Magic Mouse
Apple Magic Trackpad

I agree with you there; but there is one problem...both Macs and their add on kits also tend to be insanely expensive :). I for one didn't want to have to use my first few years of network payouts to pay off an equipment acquisition debt!

True but I bought my Mac mainly for college and university work, so it's all profit ;D
