Video Editing Computers.

Processor cores won't matter so much unless you're multitasking (not recommended while rendering) or doing hardcore physics/3d rendering.

RAM is where it's at.. Cram as much RAM into your system as it'll take, by and far the most cost effective way of upgrading a vfx machine. Solid State drives also make an enormous difference while doing certain vfx tasks.

Hello I don't have a YouTube account but I would be glad to make people thumbnails for very cheap prices!!!!

10 thumbnails=£5
however you get your first thumbnail free!!!

CPU: Intel Pentium Core 2 Quad Q8200 @2.33ghz (quad core)
Motherboard:Not sure
RAM: 6gb DDR2
Graphics Card: Intel G43/ G45 express chipset
Power Supply: Unsure
Any Other comments: Adobe's Creative suite cries every time I open it -.-

My computer is pretty snappy outside of gaming and video editing, I don't really have thoughts of upgrading any time soon, though I do want a laptop.

Can anyone recommend a macbook pro retina/PC equivalent? I want a light laptop with SDD+HDD with high res screen and anything that will make it a powerful video editing machine. Ta.

Thanks,

VGJFelix

RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws 8GB (2 x 4GB)
Graphics Card: XFX Radeon HD 7870 core edition

I find everything fine, but the hard drive is way too noisy for some reason (instead of western digital caviar black 1TB, maybe caviar green). I need to get quieter fans, and if I could go back, I would've have got a different version of the 7870, maybe the sapphire oc edition? Also, should've gone withe the i5-3570k, so much more worth it!

Well, here goes...
Pentium G630 2.7 GHz
Asus P8H61-M LX
2GB DDR3 RAM
Intel HD 1000 (Integrated Graphics)
Really not sure about the PSU though. Haven't checked.

Anyways, yes I know it sucks but as long as I can play both Pokemon and CS: Source at over 80FPS, then I'm fine with it. Am saving money of course for a better build in the future (will prob take some 2-3 years)
