great advice man. it's clear, concise and makes total sense.

i've tried applying most of the tips here on one of my videos that was about 2 months old, had around 2k views and was either on the bottom part of page 2 or page 3. after optimizing the seo it immediately dropped to page 8! i figured the optimizing needed time ti kick in so i waited a few days. after a week or so (yesterday) it was back on page 2 somewhere around the middle but today it dropped again on page 8. i don't get it? why the big difference?

I would say you probally over did it. Youtube tends to penalize for keyword density thats too high. I have seen some of my videos do thid before though. It is weird, but they usually ended up on page 1 in the end. What search are you ranking for and what video is it?

I'm trying to rank high for 'lego deadpool'. the search term is already in the title, description and for tags I put 'atlas animationz', 'deadpool', 'lego deadpool', 'lego deadpool videos', 'lego deadpool movie', 'lego deadpool stop motion' and 'lego deadpool vs'. The last 4 tags I got from google suggestions.

Wow...this is crazy. I have to sit down and do all of this to see what will happen. I'm not a gaming channel so we'll see how it works for me.

Gotta say, pretty helpful guide you got going over here. I'd say personally I need to work on Keyword Density and Tags, which is generally always a work on progress for everyone. I was happy to find out under certain search results for the game/series that I end up doing the most on my channel that I was on page 2. Not quite there at the top of 1 or even on 1, but almost! Heck I ended up above some of my favorite YouTuber's videos in the search results even, it's kind of a victory right there!
 
Hey, Connor, great guide, but I could use some help. Can you check out some of my recent videos and give me some ideas on what I should put in tags, title, and description? Thanks a ton! (Not the 100 sub special vid, don't care how many views that gets)
 
So basically if you put keywords in all parts of the video, YouTube ranks it higher? o.o
