Yay Thrashbat! Oh, I have an update too! I'm at 81 subscribers so far. That's changed FROM 52 IN TWO DAYS WITHOUT ADVERTISING!!!!!

I had a PM conversation with Thrashbat and advised him not to tag more than 10 people. So yes, he was aware.

Hi Katherine!
I know. Please take another look at my post, as I specifically said he was aware, being he's active in the community and, like I did, somehow picking up that guideline along the way despite it not being mentioned anywhere in the forum rules.

My point was as an unclear and unofficial guideline, he worked within what could easily be seen as an acceptable interpretation. The post I was tagged in had 7 tags. The other tag post on that page had 10. Maybe he went over ten tags in a post (I haven't gone through the whole thread) but I'm guessing he didn't and was trying to stay within forum decorum.

My other, point, of course, was that as a mod it's within your power and authority to do what you feel is best for the community, especially in circumstances like this where there is no specific and clear rule governing the situation.

But I'm a pretty smart guy, and I could easily have done the same thing he did thinking I was completely obeying the rules and policies of these forums. What I was suggesting is that the topic of tagging people, and what is and isn't acceptable, be added to the official forum rules to avoid further confusion.

Thanks for reading and keep up the good work making this a great forum.

Have to admit, and I say this not wanting to contradict a mod and the members who've expressed a concern, but I don't see a violation here. With he obvious caveat that a moderator's job is to moderate, i.e. control the communications of the community for the good of the community at their discretion, multiple tags in a thread is not the same thing as multiple (i.e. over 10) tags in one post. Further, Thrashbat deliberately made a concerted effort to limiting tagging to people that had expressed interest in being notified of the information. I *wanted* this update, and I'm glad he tagged me as I'm sure are others.

Obviously, some people are concerned by this. But the fact is that tagging limits are not actually mentioned anywhere in the YTTalk official community rules OR in Frankie's stickied rules post. Despite that, as an active member of the community, Thrash was not only aware of this "rule" but went out of his way to attempt to abide by it/work around it within what is actually a very understandable interpretation of the guideline. If he'd tagged 100 people randomly in one post, I'd understand the concern, but I just don't see the problem here.

IF tagging 10 or fewer people in multiple posts within a thread is undesirable to this community, then I'd recommend those guidelines be clearly spelled out in the readily available community rules documents to avoid any further confusion.

Annnnd... all that said, thanks for the update, Thrash! Grats!

i understand where your coming from! like i said i was just simply double checking if everyone was ok with the tags. even if its not against the rules.. if there are people that don't appreciatethe tags or are questioning there relation to the thread...we have to at least ask to see if everything is ok.

but most of this has been cleared up. :)

Hi :) He tagged 100 people. I personally feel, that this is rather excessive for this forum.

Hello fellow YTtalk forum goers!

I have a Thrashimation update for all of you. I'd just like to start by thanking all of you thoroughly. The YTtalk forum community has changed my way of thinking about my channel on numerous occasions, and often with invaluable insight. I like to think that Thrashimation is the YTtalk baby. You have all helped it from the start, and how great would it be if it took off and you could say you knew and helped us when we began.

1. To begin with, we have finally finished our channel art, which can be viewed on our YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter pages. I'd love feedback on them, and they are your first view of our real animation style. My Thrashbat avatar is not what it looks like on our actual shows for the most part. Check them out ;)

2. That brings us to the the fact that we have our YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter pages up! They are now linked in my signature!

3. Why should you like and follow? Two reasons: The first is that we will be releasing exclusive content there. That means both original jokes, but also previews and screenshots you won't see anywhere else, not even here!

4. We've sprinkled jokes and easter eggs throughout our information on YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter, so give it a read if you need a laugh :)

In conclusion, thank you so much for supporting us as we learn the ways of YouTube. You're our guides, and the best guides subscribe! :giggle:

Thank you,
Thrashbat and Thrashador

Edit:
I have a list of people interested in Thrashimation that's really, really long. So I'm going to tag them 10 at a time for a while on here and then the rest will be saved for the official launch! Here's the first ten who expressed interest in Thrashimation, so a big thanks there! :)

Oh, now that is really nice! I thought of the guitar brush and am really happy with it. It really expresses what we do, and those characters you see are part of our opening series :) The videos are certainly being prepared to the highest quality :D And you are the first person on my new list of people to tag (and I better keep it to ten, obviously lol :p ).

Wow this thread went a little weird. Just to add my two cents: Thrash, there is a '10 tag per thread' limit for a reason. Just because someone said 'oh cool' it doesn't mean they 'expressed an interest' in your channel. We don't really allow for this as it's nothing short of spamming people's alert boxes to draw attention to your thread.

When you post a promo thread you must only tag people you interact with on a very regular basis (or people who request to be tagged), for e.g. me and Vic always tag each other, Pitbull requested to be tagged in my promo threads to be updated and what have you.

:)[DOUBLEPOST=1376378861,1376378312][/DOUBLEPOST]That being said I will make it very clear in the rules page (linked in my signature and available as a sticky) just so there are no future misunderstandings.

Thanks Frankie. That should hopefully help clear things up some.
