I've just started using something really odd, as it's no longer made. An Andrea Electronics Superbeam 3D SB-405W headset that has a built in mic on each earpiece for Binaural recording. Combined with the companion Audio Commander software, it will give many pro mics a run for their money in my opinion.

Since I don't do face cam, audio is even more important to me than most YouTube creators; this is the sweetest audio setup I've had to date.

Wow nice DIY set up! I was thinking about waiting to start my channel until I had the money for super nice recording equipment, but decided to just to a bodge it job. Loving the DIY vibes.

Thanks. It's a work in progress. I'll probably buy a RODE shotgun mic soon. I bought a new camera app last night that I like much more than the stock app. It's called MoviePro. I think it was like 5 dollars.

I'm a big fan of my Rode NTG2. I've used it for a couple of years now and it's never let me down. However I'm now looking to get a lavalier/lapel mic so I can move around the kitchen without having to keep adjusting the sound levels. Any suggestions for under £100?

So I have since purchased a couple mics. I bought a Rode VideoMic Pro and a Takstar SGC-598. I bought both to see if the Takstar could meet my needs. I made the video in my sig using it. So far I like it and may return the Rode. The Rode is much nicer, but it was also much more expensive. I'm not sure the quality difference matches the price difference.

I use the Audio Technica AT2020 XLR version with a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 interface. I did use the Audio Technica AT2020 Usb version but I preferred having more control.

If you are going to go with the AT2020 USB version make sure its the PLUS version..

Also if money is an issue I started out with the Samson Go Mic Pro which is a great mic for the price and better than the Snowball in my opinion.

A little work in Adobe Audition (Or Audacity) and you can get some great sound from it.

Just bought my first mic, an Audio Technica AT2020 USB+. I think it's better than the Blue Yeti from my research. Will only find out in 2 days. Can't wait!

BLUE SNOWBALL!

Hello everyone!

I have had a Blue Snowball Ice for approx 1 week and all i can say i it is 100% worth the money! £45 off Amazon New!
For a cheap and not to big mic its great! Records nice and clearly and does not pick up too much background noise.
So just thought i would give a quick user review!
Check out my channels past couple videos and you will hear the quality in the recordings!

Thanks! And i hope this helped!
