well comment on other people's videos.. that will help ur channel indirectly.

Yeah, I genrally comment most videos and channels I watch.

I usually only comment when I really have something to add to the conversation, and might gets some thumbs up. Otherwise, comments get flooded down pretty quickly.

you can add people as contacts now. A bunch of people are still using the old layout and if they aren't all you have to do is copy their channel name and then go to inbox and click address book then new and put their channel name there.
