Vlog How many Oregon vloggers do we have out there?:D

I've shot and edited a few videos but decided my camera definitely needed an upgrade... but when the $800 upgrade arrived it was just as bad as the previous $90 cam, so I'm seeing if I can return it and just purchase a DSLR. :)

And I've got the same days off, pretty much! Monday-Friday.

I've actually been subbed to your stuff for awhile under a different account. :) It's been fun seeing/commenting on your stuff! Kevin and Sunshine/Paige's stuff too. Yay for Oregon/Portland tubers!

That is an awesome plan! A lot of work, but you have the time to do it, go for it! Trying to do that many to start can be a bit overwhelming (I certainly can't swing that much yet), when you are trying to figure out the software, lighting, and all that. Though that might just be me; I've been told that I'm excessively picky when it comes to that kind of stuff, and that most people wouldn't notice. :-p

What kind of software are you rock'n?

I've been using the Olympus tg-2 for my vlog channel (which isn't really up and running yet, I'm trying to figure out vlogging, I can't seem to keep it short enough). It seems to work pretty well for that sort of video, good audio and color. :) I think it's a $25o camera. Waterproof to 50 ft. shock proof, all that fun. Pretty much, it's Jenny-proof. :)

Ohhh, the initial plan is the start off with 1 video a week (different day/subject) and then start doing one more vid each week depending on subscriber goals-- Maybe 2 vids at 100, 3 vids at 1k, and 4 vids at 5k, and then 5 at 10k. So, not starting off that ambitious and more just, ah, optimistic? :)

I originally found YTtalk and the various Oregon channels all at the same time when I was trying to see if there were people in the Portland are, then I subscribed. :)

I'm currently looking at switching to a Canon Rebel t3i DSLR, but not quite sure! The thing I'm trying to send back is a Sony HDR-CX260V, which I'm not recommending. :)

I'm excited to see your vlogging, the end of your videos where you're enjoying your food shows off your personality a bit, vlogging work out nicely! Keeping vlog segments between 4-8 minutes seems like kind of a hard skill, something to learn I guess. :)
 
That's a good plan. Too many videos at once might get discouraging if you can't keep up.

Yeah. I think to start out, I need to keep it to 2-3 minutes, because I get too wordy. I'm trying to start short so that I get used to cutting out all of the slow stuff so people don't get too bored. :)

What part of Portland are you in? If I may. Like @polodennis, I am also close to the Clackamas Town Center.
 
I'm North of you two, then-- I'm close in SE. It'd be a lot of fun to meet @Paige McKenzie as well! I've been going through her show (though YT's super glitchy playlist system is making it hard). Not sure what @KGATV has been up to, he seems to be takin' a bit of a break from YT and YTtalk, as well as the other vloggers too! Let's do it! :p
 
Yeah! @Paige McKenzie makes some awesome videos! Yeah, Kevin does seem to be taking a break, but maybe we can encourage him to get going again. He was doing a lot of videos all at once.

What kind of meetup do you think? I'm down for a lot. For a first go, we might want to keep it simple so we can spend time getting to know everyone, their plans for their channels, and if there is a way we can fit into eachother's plans. Something like a frozen yogurt shop, or something else.

Hey @KGATV ! Maybe you should cut back for a while, so it's not too much! You don't want to get burnt out and get used to not posting! We would miss you too much.
 
Sure, maybe we could meet at Menchies Frozen Yogurt or something during the week, that oughta be pretty close to you Clackamas folks!

(I'd be down for a bar-ish meetup if people were into that sorta thing too, looks like we're all 21+ except for Twigboy who may not actually be in Oregon still?)
 
There is a Menchies in the pramenade across the street from the mall. Near the Clackamas Target. :)
