YouTubers promoting themselves on Kickstarter

Can't we say the same s**t for Patreon. Big youtube channels wanting you to donate to them for them to keep doing videos. So they collect your money monthly that you donate + ad revenue...

I can understand Patreon though and most youtubers channels cannot make a living for YouTube though.

Caddicarus and Matthias are two channels that I really liked that is on Patreon. Matthias is being transparent and even showed one of his income in one of his vids.

OneyG is quitting youtube because he cannot earn "enough", nto sure if he has a patreon though, if he is, he would still be focused more on YouTube.

Matthias is living with his wife though. What is enough for you though? Do you consider a $100 for the month enough?

OneyG took a job with an artist company because he could not earn enough, watch his video why, he also told his viewers to check some of his friends because they explained why animators cannot earn enough from YouTube.

He has 30k subs now and he still has the freaking nerve to pretty much beg random people on the internet for money so he can upgrade his laptop.

I apologise if I seemed a tad aggressive haha this type of thing just really pisses me off... Also please feel free to counter my argument if you see my opinion on this to be wrong I am open to discussion.

I think the promoting themselves thing is a little too far, but I do agree with YouTubers asking for some help from their community depending on the situation. Hannah Hart raised (a s**t ton of) money for a tour, Furious Pete raised money to save his dog after fans asked him to start a kickstarter. YouTube doesn't pay nearly as much as other career options, so I understand that sometimes the money isn't always there.

I'd have no self respect for myself if i asked to money to start up a youtube channel, I think it'd be slightly different if it was for charity, But i suppose thats what Twitch is for?...Right?

I there the reason is clear as to why these projects are zero percent funded. Isn't this against Kickstarters rules, Kickstarter is for projects that have a beginning and an end (ex. movie, tour, new series, etc.) I don't think a new a computer is a project.
