Youtubers Getting Hacked

GooberVlogs

Happy New Year
So I'm subscribed to a channel called leafyishere and his channel has been hacked??? every title says hacked by poodlecorp..

This person keeps hacking big youtubers.... how do people get away with this.. how do they even hack... you think there would be some kind of protection.. unless they know all there info like cell number and that kind of thing..

I guess this is a thing now.. big youtubers getting hacked

Well to say the least, Leafy's reaction was a pretty big one. It seems he's now forced to quit YouTube, because he can't receive his password or any personal information back through his Google+ account. Not to mention now he states he's been hacked by Jacob Satorius.

I'm not one to speculate, but if this continues, I'm going to have to make my password very long and tedious. I feel it's completely unfair, that someone would go out of their way to ruin people's channels on YouTube.

on his channel all his title say hacked by poodlecorp and one of his followers is pewdiepie.. so maybe all these hacks on big channels is just so people can talk about it like i'm doing now but in reality maybe they all know eachother

We need a two-step verification

There is one, it's just Google doesn't enforce it.[DOUBLEPOST=1467670865,1467670752][/DOUBLEPOST]

Maybe, but it's a bit ify. Why would Leafy want his viewers to follow a twitter account that nobody has ever heard of, or seen Leafy speak about. Not to mention, if this person did attack Leafy, why would he or she leave a link to their twitter to receive a lot of "Hisss"[DOUBLEPOST=1467670913][/DOUBLEPOST]Oh wait, his channel is back and everything is good.

This is really sad to hear, best we can do is prepare for it and learn from the victims.I've taken programming courses all about hacking prevention and how to create better secured programs. The first defence to being hacked is having really difficult passwords, and even changing them every month or two. Having different passwords for each account is something to consider as well. Cuz some sites are much easier to hack and if a user uses the same password for all, then all his accounts will be compromised. Other ways of being hacked are when you visit fake sites that mirror the actual site and you end up giving your passwords. Some malicious sites are masked by url shorteners like bit.ly and you can use sites like urlxray. com to see their destinations. There's also being tricked into downloading malicious programs you can download that can capture your passwords. Another unobvious way people can obtain your passwords is through public wifi access. Lastly, I think Youtube should perhaps increase their security and give the option to use two factor authorization, which would require the user to enter a code texted to them through their phone each time.

Perhaps, but if they were scheming their viewers like that, then they don't deserve views or subscribers on YouTube if they just want to cause confusion and disruption. You don't see Pewdiepie or Markiplier doing that, why would Leafy do it?

I agree but it's hard to trust anything online.. hell I used to watch prank channels back in the day till I found out they are staged -_- I think it's dumb for a prank channel to hire actors to play a random pedestrian getting praked =/

Oh are you inferring about Mcjuggernuggets and how all of his videos are completely fake? Yea, it's kinda sad that people just do it for the money and nothing else. Whatever happened to YouTube just being a place where you express the real you.
